20 Week Pregnancy Update | Round Two

I haven’t done a pregnancy update since I announced we were pregnant back at 12 weeks and answered a few questions regarding this pregnancy.  I knew I didn’t plan to do weekly updates this time around, but I did hope to do a decent job documenting things.  This pregnancy has been a lot different than my pregnancy with Brody, so I want to be sure to take notes along the way.  Here we go:

Date: 5/03/15
How far along? 20 Weeks ~ Half Way!
Baby Size? Baby is the size of a Mango
Total weight gain: ~13 lbs – see the doc on Tuesday.  This number kind of shocks me since I was so sick and could hardly eat for the first 15 weeks or so.  I seemed to start gaining weight sooner this time than I ever did with Brody.  I was up 12lbs with Brody at this point.
Maternity clothes? I started wearing some maternity pants/shorts at about 17 or 18 weeks this time.  My belly definitely started showing faster than it did with Brody.  I am still the most comfortable in regular dresses and maxi dresses from my closet.
Miss Anything? Wine and at the beginning of my pregnancy a beer actually sounded good to try and help settle my stomach.
Movement: I started to feel a few light flutters around 16 weeks.  Since then I’ve felt a few small kicks and the same light flutters.  Nothing big yet.  I’m looking forward to more movement.
Symptoms: I was extremely tired for the first 12 weeks and even up until about 16 weeks.  I have more energy now, but I still don’t feel like I’m back to my normal energy level.  Food aversions and Nausea have been my biggest symptoms this time around.  Both of those seem to subside around 17 weeks and completely by 18 weeks.
Belly Button in or out? in
Wedding rings on or off? on
Sleep: I have slept well throughout this pregnancy.  I wake up to go to the bathroom once a night (occasionally twice).  I have some tingling in my left leg (close to hip flexer) that usually comes as soon as I lay down at night.  It’s so strange, but is slowly starting to go away.
Best moment this week: Starting to feel like ME again!!!  I finally feel like I have turned the corner and can live my normal-everyday life again.  These last four months were tough.
Exercise: I was taking Pure Barre classes before I got pregnant and basically had to stop completely when I was six weeks pregnancy due to the nausea.  I made it to a few sporadic classes, but finally at 18 weeks, I’ve been able to get back to class 3 times a week or so.

Anything making you queasy or sick: Not anymore, but meats (especially red meat) were making me nauseous for the first 18 weeks.  It amazed me that I was able to eat most seafood with being nauseas.
Gender Prediction: It’s a GIRL.  We were able to find out at an ultrasound at 16 weeks that we’re having a girl.
Labor Signs: No
Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy now that I feel better.  Pretty moody before that.
Looking forward to: Having our 20 week doctors appointment on Tuesday morning and seeing the baby on the ultrasound!  Now that I’m feeling good, I’m also looking forward to setting up a nursery for baby girl and starting to work on Brody’s big boy room πŸ™‚  Stay tuned for some inspiration boards on both of those rooms coming soon…

You look great! I can't believe you were so sick for 17 weeks….I'm knocking on some major wood over here….I don't know if I could've handled that. I totally agree that I am most comfortable in regular dresses and maxis. Ita basically what I wear 7 days a week. Have the best appointment tomorrow!!!

So happy you're feeling better! I can't believe you're already half way there! I felt the way you did this time around when I was pregnant with Miller. It was so hard to get my energy back after that and I hated being pregnant. It was so much better with Matthew that I was actually able to enjoy being pregnant.
