A New Look at Home of Malones

Well, what do you think?

I always tend to love the look when bloggers get a new design on their blog, but a lot of time it takes me a little while to get used to it.  Things get moved around and sometimes a little confusing, so I always have to re-learn my way around the site.  That may be the case for you today, but hopefully you will click around and see some of the new features.  I know some of the links are currently not working, but we are working behind the scenes to get those back up and running.

I’m really happy with the way things turned out.  It all started with a vintage monogram I came across on Etsy and I knew I wanted my next blog design to incorporate it!  I looked and contacted several different blog designers when I was looking for someone to help me and I was so happy to come across Madison from Grace + Vine.  I had entertained the idea of migrating over to WordPress, but I wasn’t entirely sure that I was ready to take the plunge.  After contacting Madison, she highlighted several pros for making the move and off we went.  I knew it made the most sense to go ahead and do the move while I was designing the site because this doesn’t happen often.

Today is my first day using WordPress, so I haven’t worked on it long enough to give you my opinion.  So far, it seems to provide so much more information and freedom to customize your blog than blogger does.  I am a little concerned that it will be harder for readers to comment on WordPress than it was for Blogger, so I’m hoping that I still get to hear feedback from my readers.  We will have to see how that goes.

If there is anything that you notice that needs improvement, please don’t hesitate to comment below.  My Mother was quick to tell me that the font was still too small for her, so we are working on that.   One of the reasons I changed from my old blog design was because a lot of people complained that they had a hard time reading that gold font on my page.  So I want to make sure this is easy to read!!

Thank you for bearing with me during this transition and I hope you love the new look as much as me 🙂

This font is darker and therefore easier to read.
