Brody Charles | Year Four

Height/Weight:

3ft 5.5″// 38 lbs

Clothes:

Wearing mostly size 4, but still fit into size 3 shorts & shirts. Size 9-11 shoes.

Sleep:

You sleep great at night from about 8 or 8:30pm until 7am.
You nap for 2-3 hours still, but you do fine if you don’t take one which is nice sometimes on the weekend.  You usually nap from 2-4pm.  I’m keeping my fingers crossed we can keep this for a little longer even though I can tell you have almost outgrown them. If you do not take a nap, you still have to have quiet time in your room.
You had about two weeks (in May) where you tried coming into Mommy and Daddy’s room every night to sleep with us.  Thankfully we broke the habit and you haven’t tried it again since.

Health:

You had tubes put into your ears in November 2016.  It’s been the best decision for us.  You haven’t had any more ear infections and we haven’t had any problems with the tubes.
Otherwise, you have probably had a few coughs and runny noses; but thankfully, no big health issues.

Some of my Favorite Lines:

“I don’t need a nap, I have a lot of injuries (energy).”
“I don’t have to nap when I turn Four. Ill be an adult.”
“Turn Right, Dad.” Wow, How did you learn that? Grammy teaches me.
Grammy says she needs to go home and you tell her, “You don’t have to go home now, Jesus is taking care of your house.”

Favorite Foods:

You have finally started to try a few new foods.  Not much, but a few.  You still don’t like any pastas which includes macaroni and cheese though.  Your newest love is popcorn shrimp.  You love fruit so much and also go through phases where you eat a lot of cereal.  The only meats you eat are chicken and sometimes turkey.
You like PBJ, grilled cheese, quesadillas and sweet potatoes.  You are still a snackaholic.

Milestones:

Swimming– I thought you were a good swimmer last summer, but now you are seriously a little fish.  You started off at the beginning of summer a little timid.  Once you had your ISR refresher course at the beginning of June, you picked it all back up and are loving it!
Talking – You are just a little man now.  It’s sometimes hilarious to hear what comes out of your mouth because it sounds like an adult.  You pretty much love to hear yourself talk especially when we are in the car.
Potty Training – You’ve been a pro on the toilet since right after your 3rd birthday.  We waited to you were pretty old to start potty training, so once you got the hang of it, you got it pretty quickly.  Unfortunately, you still wear a pull-up at night and we still have to wipe you for #2.  Apparently we have to get you wiping yourself before we go into PreK4.  Oh you also just started standing up to pee which is so funny! You originally learned how to use the potty sitting down.  Now you love standing up.
Skiing –  You went skiing for your first time!! You cried really hard the first couple days of ski school when we dropped you off, but then you did great.  We were so proud of you.  I can’t wait to take you again and see how much you improve!
BIG  BROTHER! – You have done an amazing job as your role of big brother and love your sister so much.  You are really sweet to her most of the time and I love watching the way that the two of you play together.  You are a natural rule follower and make sure that Madelyn does what she is supposed to.
You honestly have the kindest little personality.  I love hearing the way you talk to your sister (most of the time).  You seem to have lots of typical first child tendencies.  You are very cautious like your Daddy, but outgoing like your Mama.  You have a big heart and love your family.  We are excited to start you in some sports this year because I know you will enjoy it.  You have such a passion for building just like your Daddy.  You are so creative and I love to watch and hear your imaginative play.  You love music and can memorize songs so quickly, it amazes me.  You don’t have a ton of interest in writing yet and just a little bit in coloring.  You love to be outside and enjoy your time in school!  I can’t believe you will be a true pre-schooler this year!!

Places You’ve Gone:

This year you have been to Disney World, Vail, Destin (a lot), Rosemary Beach, Mississippi and New Orleans.
