These were our last days at Disney (Day 1, Day 2, Day 3) and we really only had a day and half and we chose to spend them at Magic Kingdom (full day) and Hollywood Studios (half day). We had done some switching around at the point which did mess up our fast pass schedules quite a bit, but ultimately we got to do and ride a lot more at Magic Kingdom which is what we were wanting. We chose to spend all day Saturday back at Magic Kingdom instead of going to Hollywood Studios as we had planned. It ended up working out great at MK and I was able to pick up several good fast passes for us that morning.
The kids were so sweet every morning when we walked from our hotel room to the monorail. They would hold hands and walk together almost the whole way. It cracked me up and made my heart melt!
We rode Aladdin first and the kids seemed to like that. We had a fast pass, so we were on and off pretty quickly.
Our next ride was Splash Mountain and even though Brody kept saying he wanted to ride it, I was worried he was going to chicken out at the last minute. He just barely hit the height requirement of 40″ and he looked at that 50 foot drop and still said he was game. So we got our fast pass and parent swap card and were off to the ride. Brody and I went first and Matt was able to take Madelyn to this cute little kids playground they had right there next to Splash Mountain while we rode. This ride was EVERYTHING. I felt like I was a theme park adrenaline junkie after I rode it and was so excited Brody was willing to ride again to go with his Daddy. It was the best! Check out his face in the picture riding with me.
We rode Jungle Cruise next which is a fun boat ride to see the animals with a comedian as a captain to keep you laughing at their silly jokes.
I was able to pick up one more fast pass to the barnstormer which is a pretty fast roller coaster, but really short. He did great and got to ride it twice again; once with me and once with Matt.
Madelyn was acting tired and it looked like it might start to rain, so we headed back to the hotel while Brody and Matt tried to scout out one more ride. I wasn’t able to pick up any more fast passes for them at the time, so they were having to search for something without a long line. They ended up at Swiss Family Robinson’s Tree House and then headed home.
Madelyn was actually wired when we got home and had trouble falling asleep. Then the boys walked into the hotel and she was really not ready. So Matt was playing with her and then all the sudden I look over, and see the two of them like this. They were out! It was our last night and we had a really fun dinner planned at Artist Point over at the Wilderness Lodge. It was fun to check out the hotel and the food at this restaurant was amazing!!!! I can’t recommend it enough, but I will say it’s very expensive.
It was our last in Disney and our flight didn’t leave until 530pm. We weren’t sure what our plans were going to be for the day, so we woke up, had breakfast, and tried to decide the best game plan. We didn’t have park tickets and it was a little overcast to start the morning, so we didn’t think the pool was a great option. We ended up packing up our room and talking to concierge. They were able to add on another day of hopper passes for us and we decided to head to Hollywood Studios for a few hours. We were only able to squeeze in a couple of things there (the Muppet Show and Frozen Sing Along) before we needed to grab some lunch and head to the airport. But it was a beautiful day and fun to walk around and see the park.
We hopped on our 530pm flight and it couldn’t have been smoother. Madelyn slept the entire way and Brody chilled with his iPad and it made for a relaxing trip home!
This is the final recap of our trip, but I have a couple more posts coming for you guys. One is a massive post on everything I wish I had all in one place before planning my trip and one with some fun things to purchase before going to Disney.
