Disney World Day Two | Character Breakfast + Magic Kingdom

If you missed our first day at Disney World, you can read it here.  Saturday was our first full day at Disney World and it was probably the day I was most excited about!! We had fast passes to all my favorite rides and I was able to sneak a reservation to my kids favorite character dining at Chef Mickeys.

If you caught my instastories from this day, you might have seen me being a Debbie Downer.   It seemed like everything was just going wrong!!  We were trying to make it to our breakfast reservation at Chef Mickey’s that morning and due to MAJOR traffic from the Disney Half Marathon we couldn’t get anywhere.  First, we tried to load up on the complimentary hotel bus to take us but they quickly warned us how bad traffic was that we might want to hop in a cab.  So then we hit up a cab and we were stuck at a standstill for basically 40 minutes! It was so annoying.  We had to make the executive decision to abort the mission and turn around and go back to our hotel.

Thankfully, our morning was salvaged after we rushed to our hotel’s Character breakfast at the Four Seasons and begged them to please squeeze us in if possible!  We had to wait 15 or 20 minutes, but we got in!!! All Brody could talk about was seeing Mickey and Minnie.  Thank goodness, we were still able to do it!!

Our meal was honestly delicious (we ended up eating this buffet almost every morning) and it is my new favorite character breakfast.  The Four Seasons only host the characters on Thursday and Saturday mornings (and some Tuesdays), but it is well worth it.  The food was way better than Chef Mickeys and it’s just a smaller restaurant with a really low-key vibe.  A professional photographer follows the characters around and if you have the Memory Maker, then you can easily download all those photos.  We loved it!

We re-grouped ourselves after breakfast and headed back to Magic Kingdom.  The traffic was pretty much gone by this point!  We were late for our first fast pass to Splash Mountain, but thankfully I was able to sweet talk our way on!

Splash Mountain was Brodys very favorite ride last year.  He rode it twice and always talked about it when we got home.  This year, Matt took him on it first and they ended up in the front row!  They ended up getting wet and Brody was so scared when he got off.  I was so bummed that I didn’t get to ride it with him.  So keep in mind if you are riding with young kids, you might want to avoid the front row ☺️.

Our next fast pass was Big Thunder Mountain which I was so excited for and we had never ridden, but Brody wanted nothing to do with big roller coasters at this point.  This was a great reminder that we have to adjust our expectations in Disney World.  I was so excited about our day of rides, but Brody was not going for it.

So we regrouped again, and headed to the Little Mermaid.  Then we rode Dumbo.  We called it a day and headed back to the hotel to have a late lunch at PB&G again.

We thought we could get the kids back to the room to have a late afternoon nap, but they were having none of it.  Instead of heading to one of our favorite dinner spots, Artist Point at Wilderness Lodge, we decided to order pizza from Ravello and rent a family movie in the room!

I would sleep stalk my kids everything single night.  I loved seeing them sleep together!
