The Kids Closets Organized

I’ve been trying to straighten up and organize around the house lately.  I always go through spurts of this and it feels so good once it is done!  I posted a couple of photos on my instastories and several people had questions and wanted to see a little bit more!  I thought I would share them with you guys pretty quickly.

Both of their closets are exactly the same.  They have two doors that open up to a high and low hanging rack.  I organize both of their closets the exact same.  The only difference is that in Brody’s closet, he has a set of built in dress drawers because we don’t have a dresser in his room.  Otherwise, the are the same.

I ordered this shoe organizer for each of their closets as an easy way to store their shoes. This made a big difference in their closets.

All of the baskets used in their closet are from Target.  I try to label all the bins to keep it organized and so that anyone that opens their closet, knows where to find things.

The biggest thing that I have done recently is color coordinate their clothes.  In Madelyn’s closet, her top shelf of clothes is the clothes that she is currently wearing and that fit.  The bottom rack is the “off season” clothes and ones that are too big for her right now.  So I organized her top shelf like the colors of the rainbow and I love the way it feels and looks!

I’m embarrassed to show you their closets only in that I know they have too many clothes!  Shopping for kids clothes is definitely my guilty pleasure.  But I hope these photos can help inspire you to get a little more organized.  It feels so good once it’s done.  Kids closets are the hardest too because they are constantly growing out of things and need to be sorted through.

They both look great!! You’ve inspired me to get my kids closets organized this week. Both of them are currently not looking that good and could use a spruce up and major organization!

I have to admit, I have never seen so many clothes for kids before, but I can certainly understand your weakness. I have a new granddaughter and there are so many cute clothing items out there, it’s hard not to buy them all! Great organization.
