Oreo Snowman Christmas Pops

Happy December 1st!

I can’t believe we are already here!  I wanted to share this fun little holiday treat with you guys.  Mainly, because I’m so proud of myself for doing it (I’m not a baker at all) and also because it’s super cute.

This morning we are having our North Pole brunch, but I actually made these cute snowman pops for a party we are headed to this weekend.

This job is not for the faint of heart.  You need patience!  Who knew it could be so difficult to put a tiny little drop of icing for an eye or a mouth?  Well, it is.  At least for someone like me who is not familiar with icing bags or icing tips or anything of that nature!  Try to find a black tube of icing that is very small and has a small tip.  That will save you a lot of trouble.  My tube was larger, so then I had to make my own icing bag with a ziplock and it was somewhat of a disaster.

But, I got them done and even though they are not even close to perfect; I really love them 🙂

So if you are headed to a holiday party (especially with kids), make a few of these!  I tried to get Brody involved (he’s four), but I found myself yelling at him for messing up my snowman faces more than I was able to appreciate his help 🙈

Oreo Snowman Christmas Pops

  • Oreo Cookies (Double-Stuffed Oreos work best to insert the cake pop stick- get the red filling too)
  • Cake pop sticks
  • Vanilla quick-melt candy coating (easy to microwave)
  • Candy Corn or Orange Icing or Orange Tic-Tacs for nose (cut in half)
  • Black frosting for eyes and mouth

Step #1: Twist apart Oreos.  Melt the vanilla candy coating according to package instructions. Insert the cake pop stick in the cream filling of the Oreo, pressing gently so the cookie doesn’t break.  Use a little bit of melted chocolate to hold it in place.  Place them in the freezer for 30 min.

Step #2:    Dip your Oreos in the melted white chocolate.  Use a spoon to make sure entire cookie is covered.  Allow excess chocolate to drain off.

Step #3:  Place your pops on wax or parchment paper to cool.

Step #4:  Before the candy coating has cooled completely and is still slightly soft, push the snowman’s nose into the middle of the cookie if using candy corn or tic-tac.  Allow to cool before adding the black frosting dots for eyes and mouth.

Step #5:  Allow pops to harden completely before adding a scarf.
