Our 4th of July

How much does today feel like a Monday???  It felt pretty weird to have the 4th of July on a Tuesday this year.   It seemed to make both Monday and Wednesday feel a bit off; but either way, we had a great day!

On Monday, me and the kids had a quiet morning at the house just trying to catch up from the weekend.  That meant lots of laundry, unpacking beach bags and straightening up the house.  Once we got our $hit together, we put on our suits and headed to meet some friends for pool time and lunch.  The kids had fun, I enjoyed a champagne sparkler and we were ready to kick off the 4th of July.

On Tuesday for the 4th, we woke up, went to breakfast, and visited Matt’s Dad.  We ran home to get in our swimsuits and get ready to go out on the boat.  We decided to leave Madelyn at home this year because our 4th of July party was right in the middle of her nap time.  Although I was kind of sad to leave her, it made for quite a relaxing day.   Brody had a blast with all of the big kids and it was fun to have some one-on-one time with him!  We came home around dinner time and grilled out some hamburgers for us and my MIL.  We watched the fireworks, the kids had a wild dance party and were thrilled that they got to stay up late.

We ate ice cream and homemade blueberry cobbler.  Recipe here minus the peaches.

This is still my favorite new swimsuit and I always get several of you asking about it.  Unfortunately it still isn’t on sale, but shall I dare say it’s worth the money???  I don’t know, it’s really expensive; but I just love it!  You can find some pretty good dupes here, but I have tried the halter one-piece on and it doesn’t work at all.  My boobs fall out the sides. yikes!

I hope everyone had a fun and safe 4th!!! Now we are resting up for Journey in concert tomorrow! Woohoo!
