Pre-K Graduation & The Last Day of School

Yesterday was the kids last day of school.  I was feeling more emotional than usual about the big day.  I think I can blame some of that on pregnancy and some of that on the fact that Brody is headed into Kindergarten.  I feel like that is cheating to say a little bit because Brody is actually headed into a young fives, half-day Kindergarten class next year.  So he’s not heading to the “big school” quite yet!

We have loved both of their teachers so much this year and sad to say goodbye to them.  Last year during the end of school, Matt and I were on vacation; so I don’t remember getting emotional about any of it like I have this year.

I really have been looking forward to a little slow-down summer time, but so far we are one day in and I already feel like I’m getting my butt kicked! haha.  I really think it is just because I’m looking at this tropical system in the Gulf that is going to be bringing us a weeks worth of rain and I have nothing planned for my kids. That just stresses me out thinking about it!

Anywhere, here is a look at our day. The kids both went to school in the morning as normal and then we had the graduation at 11am and I grabbed Madelyn to come watch with us.  The service was really sweet as they all walked to get their diplomas and then all the kids sang several cute songs together to wrap things up. We took a few pictures after the service but the kids were mostly over it and then we tried to grab some lunch out, but they were not having it. I think the whole week of festivities had finally caught up to them just like it had me and they were all ready for a nap!!! So back home to nap is exactly where we went!!

And a few comparisons just for fun…
