Scenes From Our Weekend

We got a little taste of Fall weather this weekend and it was quite delightful!! It was one of those nice weekend where we really didn’t have any plans and got to just do a little bit of whatever we wanted which was so refreshing!

Friday we had our October girls lunch and celebrated our friend, Courtney’s birthday! We usually do our lunch at Jackson’s, but had so much fun changing it up this month and having it at Angelena’s Italian restaurant.

Before lunch, I ran over to Fiore’s new location just at the corner of Main St. and Barrancas and picked up some pretty Fall flowers for the birthday girl. I love the new mural that they painted outside of the shop.

We had our own private table for lunch which was so nice and the flowers looked pretty right in the middle!  This girls lunch tradition has become so much fun and something we all look forward to each month.  We are usually able to arrange it around someone’s birthday which makes it extra festive and occasionally we have to skip a month or two, but we just love it.

Friday evening Matt was coming home from a work trip and we kept it easy with pizza night from Santinos.  These roll-ups are so delicious if you are local and never had them.  We did pepperoni and cheese, but you can get whatever you want in them.

Saturday morning we were supposed to have a soccer game but the games were cancelled because of the rain.  So we spent most of the morning baking and cooking and hanging around the house.  We invited some friends to come over later in the afternoon to watch football and eat dinner with us.

I managed to fail at heating almond bark to make some fun Halloween treats and you guys later told me that I could have tried putting oil or crisco in these bowls that I over heated and tried to heat them up again and soften the chocolate.  Anyway, you win some and you lose some.  These went in the garbage!!!

On the bright side, these cute ghost peeps made some adorable S’mores.  I got this cute idea from Jordan and they are so easy because you just broil them in the oven for a couple of minutes.

Our friends came over for football, make-up, dress-up fun and dinner! Madelyn was in charge of her class hedgehog for the weekend, so this is TACO.

We also made these cute Mummy Dogs for the kids which were a pretty big hit.

BRODY LOST HIS FIRST TOOTH!!

He was in the shower and he’s pretty sure it went down the drain! 😬

So Matt was in Louisiana on his work trip and they catch this amazing Red Fish that they clean and take home on the half shell.  I don’t know how many of you would have access to Red Fish on the Half Shell, but if you wanted this recipe, I would share it.  It is seriously one of the best things you will put in your mouth! Dinner was a hit!

Sunday was absolutely gorgeous and we decided to load up the kids in the car for breakfast and head out to the beach.  We went to Crab’s and it was so pretty.  We sat out on a picnic table in the sand and the kids played (they also have a playground) and we got to enjoy some of the nice weather.

These are their pumpkin outfits from last year that are so darn cute.  They are by Dondolo.  I was able to snag a new one for Molly this year in her size and the big kids still fit in theirs from last year.

That afternoon, Matt had to run to the new house to do a few things and brought the big kids to go fishing on the pier.  That is their favorite thing to do.  I can’t wait until they can go out there all the time.

I hope everyone had a great weekend!  This week has been really busy with stuff up at Brody’s Elementary school and I also have a fun house meeting coming up this week.  So hopefully I will share more on that soon!
