Scenes from Our Weekend | Brody’s 3rd Birthday

Hi Friends. Today is a special day because my little man turns THREE!!!  I’m pretty obsessed with this age right now.  I’m trying to do my best to document things because I swear I crack up laughing half the day at the things that come out of his mouth.  He’s such a little man now.
We decided to have a small party for him at my Mom’s house this year at the pool.  It was a gorgeous day and just had the family over with a couple of close friends and grill some burgers.
When I say I kept it simple this year, I mean it.  There was no theme.  I used left over party decorations that I still had lying around from his 1st birthday party and bought him a generic birthday cake from Publix.  I figured this was about the last year I could get by with it because from here on out he’s probably going to be demanding things like Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle parties or what ever cartoon is popular at the moment.
He got some amazing gifts which I’ll recap in another post because you might enjoy seeing.  I didn’t know what to get the kid for his birthday this year, but it all ended up being a success.
Here’s a few snapshots of our day…

How sweet! Glad you were able to take it easy this year with the party because you're right, it'll probably themed from now on!

It's honestly so refreshing to see simple birthday parties! The over the top themed and coordinated shindigs get to be a little bit much sometimes – especially for toddler boys who could care less about stuff like that, and who just want to play!:) Caleb's 3rd birthday party was super simple this year too! It still ended up stressing me out quite a bit simply because there was so many people involved (our family is big and they all live close by, lol) so thank God I wasn't trying to do anything too fancy. We just cooked out, did a Publix cake (Publix for the win!), and played outside. And it was great! Can't wait to see what Brody got for his birthday. Looks like he loves that little scooter. Now I'm wondering if Caleb would like something like that?
