Scenes From Our Weekend | Fairhope Wedding

We spent this past weekend in Fairhope, AL at my nieces wedding!! They got married at Oak Hollow Farms in Fairhope and it was a beautiful farmhouse wedding.  If any of you watched the reality TV show called Sweet Home Alabama quite a few years ago, you might recognize this venue! The land is gorgeous and they set up this farm house as a super cute reception area.

Our friends just finished building a gorgeous home in Fairhope just about 5 minutes from this venue.  We were so lucky to be able to stay with them for the weekend.   They have two kids the same age as our kids and they all had a blast together.

We decided to leave Molly at home for the weekend.  Both Brody and Madelyn were in the wedding {ring bearer and flower girl} and we just decided it would be easier to get her a sitter at home then try to take her to all the wedding events that we would be attending.

Friday night we had the rehearsal at the venue and then the rehearsal dinner afterwards.  I wore this dress for the rehearsal that I ended up loving.  Both the color and the dress felt like something a little different than I would normally choose, but I really like it on.  It was super comfortable, a nice length and the color worked well for me.

We got home from dinner and our friends had waited up for us.  We tucked each of the kids in bed.  The girls had a slumber party together and then so did the boys.  It was so sweet and cute!

We leisurely woke up on Saturday morning and cooked a little breakfast at the house and let the kids play.  We sat and visited for awhile and then we went to a fun little lunch spot on the river.  I forget the name of it though!

Not long after lunch it was time for us to shower and get ready for the ceremony.  We had to be there a little bit early since the kids were in the wedding and they had to hop in a few photos with the wedding party.

I was a little bit nervous about how the kids would do for the ceremony.  Brody was walking with another little boy who was two down the aisle as ring bearers and he pretty much dragged the poor kid behind him! But it was cute.  And Madelyn decided that she was going to stop and hand out her rose petals to the guest instead of just throwing them down the aisle.  It was hilarious.

I wore this dress in Rose and I just loved it! Its such a cute dress for a great price.  I would definitely go up one full size in this dress.  Madelyn’s flower girl dress is from Amazon and you can shop it here.  It was super cute and will be such a fun dress for her to play dress up with.

I didn’t get many photos during the reception but the band was so much fun.  They were out of Troy, AL and they played great music and were so entertaining.

Sunday morning we woke up and had breakfast at our friends house again. We went to lunch at Fly Creek Marina and it was so pretty.  We loved it because we could sit outside and they had a little area for the kids to play.

We came back to Pensacola on Sunday afternoon and Matt’s sister and her kids came back too because it was their Spring Break.   We hit the beach on Monday even though it was still cold and had lunch out at the beach too.  It was so fun to get to visit with them for a bit after all the wedding festivities.

It was a gorgeous weekend and so fun to be with our family and stay with friends!
