Happy Tuesday friends! I hope everyone had an enjoyable long weekend! We were supposed to head down to Destin for the long weekend; but due to the storm in the Gulf, we decided to stay put. Thankfully, we really didn’t get a ton of rain over the weekend and were able to enjoy some time outside.
On Friday, we decided to take the kids down to Navarre and see the butterfly house and enjoy a new splash pad for us. I had lots of my local friends ask where this splash pad was located. It is right at the foot of the Navarre Beach bridge on Hwy 98. The kids had fun and there was also a nice playground.
We took them to lunch afterwards which was an adventure. And then treated them to ice cream…
Saturday morning we got up early and headed to Waffle House with the kids in our beach gear and got an early start onto the beach.
We wanted to fit in as much time as possible in case the rain showed up.
Saturday evening we had friends over for dinner with their kiddos. It was really a pretty night watching the wind come in. We ate inside and then sat on the back porch and watched the kids eat ice cream and run around outside!
For the first time this year, I cut some of our hydrangea blooms from our back yard. They make me so happy!
On Sunday, we went out to breakfast and then had a slow morning. We watched the weather and decided it looked like it was going to hold off. Brody was dying to go fishing again, so we all packed up to do a little fishing off the pier. We caught several little pin fish and Madelyn even caught her first fish!! Brody also caught a big Cat Fish. We throw all of them back, but the kids love catching them.
Sunday night we ordered pizza and had a chill night at home. We were still having nice weather which was amazing! We have become obsessed with ice cream cones at the house! Its so bad, but they are so good!
On Monday, we chilled. Matt was wanting to take Brody to the new Star Wars movie, Hans Solo, so they went with Matt’s cousin and his son and me and Madelyn chilled at the house while she napped. When she woke up, we met some friends at the country club pool for a little bit and then met the boys back home for dinner! We were supposed to have a family Memorial Day BBQ, but Brody ran a fever and started with a cough the day before, so we had to back out!
This is our first official week of summer. Madelyn starts swim lessons this week and next week Brody will start his first tennis camp!! Let the summer commence…..
Happy Summer! Your hydrangeas are gorgeous and you guys squeezed in so much fun, the best way to get the Summer started!
So fun, having proximity to hop over to the beach on a Saturday and go fishing on Sunday! Summer sounds glorious there!
