We had a fun-filled busy weekend with lots of kids and lots of family! It all started on Friday when we got to meet up with my Aunt and cousin for a quick lunch while they were vacationing on Pensacola Beach. It’s been awhile since I’ve seen my cousin and she had a new baby girl in December who I hadn’t met and they hadn’t met Brody yet either!!! It was so fun to get the kids together for a couple of hours!
Friday afternoon we flew down to Miami where my oldest brother, Brandon’s, family lives. His second child was born in January of this year and we headed down with the whole family for his baptism.
Rough life…
We got to the hotel around 6pm on Friday night and the cousins came to meet us and we caused a ruckus in the lobby for a little while. It was so cute to see them all play and to meet the new baby for the first time!! We pretty much just threw our luggage up in the room and sat at the hotel restaurant for a quick and early dinner with all the kids.
This is me and my two brothers with three of the four grandchildren!!
I learned from this weekend that photographing kids is a total joke! It was such a fun opportunity to have the entire family together with all of the kids and I was looking forward to taking some great pictures and NONE OF THEM turned out. These kids are constantly moving. I’m letting go of trying to snap the perfect photo and embracing their silly faces and eyes turned in the wrong direction…
Saturday morning was the baptism for baby Bear. Here’s Brody with his sweet new cousin!
The baptism ceremony was so nice and set up just for the family. My SIL set up a professional photographer to take photos at the church, so maybe we will be lucky to get some cute ones from her.
The whole gang at the baptism…
After the service, we went back to our hotel and had a gorgeous pool side lunch at the Ritz. I hate that I didn’t get a picture because they did a wonderful job. My SIL is one of six kids and her whole family happened to be in town which was pretty amazing, so we had the entire gang!
We hung by the pool with the kids for awhile until the typical south florida afternoon storm rolled in. We moved the party inside and the kids played and wrestled in the hotel room!
Saturday night we got ourselves showered and dressed to head to an Italian restaurant close to our hotel.

Hubby was in heaven with this bone-in Veal Parmesan
The best family picture we could get from the weekend. We were having some issues with the flash. Oh well.
Sunday morning was spent hanging with the kids at the hotel before we had to leave. These two had so much fun with each other. It was so cute to watch them interact. Emilia just turned three and Brody will be one next week, so it was fun to see the two year age difference. They would make great siblings 🙂
Brody liked to try and rock baby William to sleep too!!
We were sad to say goodbye to everyone at the hotel and let the kids play for a little longer.
Then it was time to load up and head to the airport. I don’t think we were in the car longer than 90 seconds before this guy was out!! He had a busy weekend playing with all his buddies.
Thankfully he woke up just in time to fly the plane home for us 🙂
Family is a wonderful thing and it truly only gets better. It was the first time that my brothers and I have all been together with all of our kids. We’ve each had one baby in the last year (all boys). It’s crazy. I can’t believe we are making our own families now. I loved watching the cousins interact and I know it only gets better as they get older…
