Scenes From Our Weekend | New Orleans

It’s been a busy week!  Matt left for his annual guys trip to Aspen on Wednesday and me and the kids had a jammed packed schedule.  I hosted my annual girls Dirty Santa party on Wednesday night which was so much fun.  I owe you guys a whole post on that one this week!  Thursday we hung out and I recovered from the girls party and picked up around the house a bit.  We had dinner at my Mom’s that night and then early Friday morning we packed up the car and headed to New Orleans for the weekend.

We got to New Orleans Friday afternoon and got ourselves settled in.  We were taking them to City Park that night as soon as it got dark to Celebration of the Oaks.  It was so much fun and so beautiful.  We rode the train to see all the lights around the park and then they had a ton of fun fair-type rides that my Mom and Brody had a blast riding.  I wasn’t sure if he was going to love the rides this year, but he rode everything he was tall enough for including the roller coaster.

We completely wore the kiddos out and I had to snag this photo of Brody sleeping on his little blow up mattress with his sleeping bag.  It’s the first time he’s slept in the sleeping bag and we’ve had it for 2 years!

Saturday we had my Aunt and cousins kids come over for a little playdate.  We had lunch, played at the park and rode the streetcar.  All the kids loved the street car, but Madelyn started getting a little antsy.  It’s so much fun to do though if you are ever here visiting.

We had a babysitter Saturday night and my Mom and I went out to dinner with friends.  I didn’t manage to snap any photos, but it was so much fun getting to catch up.  We drove home early Sunday morning to try and beat the bad weather home.  The kids did great.  This was the first long (3 hour) road trip that Madelyn really did good on!  We got home with our new toys from friends and waited for Daddy to get home that night.

We’re all pooped, but had a great trip.  We’re glad to have Daddy back and officially celebrate the week approaching Christmas!! I can’t believe it.  Happy Holidays friends 🙂
