Scenes From Our Weekend | New York City

This weekend I got to head up to New York City to visit my cousins which was so much fun.  My cousin, Alex, who is more like a sister (we were roommates in college together) just had her first baby at Thanksgiving and we gave her a little Sip & See to show her off.  She is so precious and only 3 months younger than my little Molly.   They will be total besties and I can’t wait.

This was the first time that I left all three babies and I have to say that I was pretty anxious.   I knew they were in great hands, but it’s always hard to leave an infant especially when you are two plane rides away.  Matt was home with them as well as my MIL and Mom, so they all tagged team all the kids.  It made it fun for all of them and I was thankful that they were in such good hands.

I had recently purchased this pink faux fur coat on sale that was perfect to take to the city.  The fur is so soft and it was super warm.  So many of you asked about my fake Hermes Belt too and I’m sorry I didn’t have the correct link for you.  Here is the link for it! Its around $20.  These shoes are a little outside the box for me, but I love the fur, got them for about $60 and they are great for the snow.

I got into town on Thursday evening around 7:30pm and went straight to my cousins apartment in Brooklyn to see her and meet the baby.  It was so great to see her and hug on that sweet baby.  We just had dinner at her place and got to catch up over some wine!

I left her around midnight and met my other cousin over in the city at her apartment where I was staying for the weekend.  I got to greet her and her husband in from the airport and we hit the bed to get ready for Friday.

We slept in on Friday which was so wonderful!  Then hit up a Soul Cycle class which kicked my BUTT!! It was so hard, but so good.  I had to be a tourist and get a Soul Cycle selfie!!

After class, we ran to the store to grab a few things for the Sip & See that we were throwing on Saturday and then ran home to shower and dress for a late lunch at Balthazar’s.  It worked out great.  My SIL flew in on Friday and she came straight from the airport to meet us for lunch.  The food was incredible and the atmosphere was super festive.  How about those French fries????

Friday night we went back over to Brooklyn and had appetizers and cocktails at my cousins place before heading out to a late dinner at the William Vale Hotel in Brooklyn.  We had the best table in the house on top of the roof at the William Vale hotel.  Their cocktails were amazing and we ate tapas style and everything was so delicious.

The picture of my hair flying up is on the rooftop of the hotel.  They have a big balcony that you can walk on and get photos.  The views are incredible of the city.  I really loved this spot.

Saturday morning was the shower and we had so much fun getting ready for it.  We hosted it at our apartment that we were staying in and everything went spectacular.

The lady of honor 🙂

Sunday morning my SIL and I flew home together.  Thankfully we made it out without any problems since the big snow storm was headed right for us.

Back at home, the kids were not having any fun.  Kidding…Madelyn got to go to a birthday party for a classmate at the nail salon and Brody got to go do some “hunting” which really meant he got to go look for deer and ride the big camo golf cart.

They had a ball and I was so excited to get home and snuggle them.  It was a wonderful trip away and I feel so lucky to be able to leave and do these things.  It was some great girl time!
