Scenes From Our Weekend | Destin

Happy Monday!

We packed up the kids Friday afternoon and headed down to Destin for the weekend.  My MIL joined us this weekend too and we just relaxed, played in the pool and visited some friends at the beach.

We arrived Friday night and got settled in.  My favorite thing is happy hour on our back porch.  It is one of my favorite, most peaceful places to sit.  I love being on the balcony looking at the boats, the Gulf, and watching the sunset.  We picked up pizza and ate at home and went to bed early.

Saturday morning we went out to breakfast with the kiddos and then came home to change into our swimsuits! The kids wanted to go swim in the pool and it was a beautiful day.  We were excited to go practice their swimming skills that Madelyn had been learning in swim lessons.

We went upstairs for lunch after we had wore the kids out and got them ready for naps.  Once they were asleep, Matt and I left them with my MIL and we went driving around looking at houses to start getting some new ideas.  We drove all the way down towards Rosemary Beach.  We were able to stop and have lunch at George’s in Alys Beach and have a Rose lunch 🙂

We got home not longer after the kids woke up from their naps and they were ready to go back down to the pool to swim.  So we wore them out a little more before dinnertime and that brought them up for baths and dinner.  We got the kids ready for bed and then Matt and I went to meet my Aunt and Uncle for dinner at Ruth Chris in Destin.  We had a fun dinner, but sadly all of our steaks were over-cooked.  Everything else was delicious, but we all realized we should have sent our steaks back!! Oh well, live and learn.

I wore this easy Jane Shift dress for dinner.  I’m wearing a size 10, but easily could have worn the 12 (they were sold out).  Sizes are selling out quickly which I hate, because this dress is so cute and comfy to throw on for day or night.

On Sunday, we packed the kids up and the car and went down to Rosemary Beach to visit some friends that are down there for the week.   The day was a little overcast, but it honestly made it so nice.  It was cooler and the kids had a ball.  The surf was a little rough which I hate, but the kids love jumping in the waves.  They played so well, we didn’t want to leave!

We got in the car around 2pm so the kids could crash in the car on the way home.  I think we wore them out pretty well.  We headed straight to my brother and SIL’s house in Gulf Breeze for a little pool party and BBQ to welcome Erin’s sister to town!  We’re excited to have her.

We got home in time to head straight to bed.  Everyone was pooped!  It was a great weekend.  Now its Monday and both kids are in swim lessons this week.  I’m hoping to knock out a few good projects this week too!
