Scenes From Our Weekend | Easter 2017

We had a pretty packed Easter weekend planned this year with egg hunts, family meals, church and parties.  It was a gorgeous weekend and one full of lovely celebrations.

The kids were off school for Good Friday, so we met some friends at the beach for a playdate and had a blast.  It was great to catch up and enjoy the beach weather.

Saturday morning we had an Easter egg hunt and brunch at the Country Club with family.  They placed all the eggs on the 18th green and the kids were let loose to pick them all up.  It was a bit windy out there, but they had fun grabbing all the eggs.  After brunch, we headed up for a quick nap and regrouping and then had another Easter egg hunt to attend! The kids got their fill of candy for the day and we were all ready to pass out and do it all again the next day!

This series of pictures of Madelyn cracks me up because she was so excited for all of her Easter eggs and then totally busted and spilt them all!

Sunday morning the kids were up pretty early.  Brody was excited to see what the Easter bunny brought.  They opened all of their eggs and toys from their baskets, ate a little Easter breakfast and then we were rushed to get dressed for 9:30am church.  Their baskets consisted of a book each, a few new beach toys, a Pez dispenser for Brody, and a few peeps on a stick.  My favorite was their Melissa and Doug dress up suits though.  I bought these a few months ago (literally) off of Zulily and almost forgot that I saved them for Easter.  They were a hit! Madelyn has some growing to do to fit into hers, but it’s still cute.

After church, we went to my brother and SIL house who were so kind to host us for Easter lunch.  We had our traditional Grillades (a veal dish) and grits and some amazing oyster dish my Mom made that I need to get the recipe for.  It was so funny celebrating with family and the kids did an awesome job playing together and keeping themselves busy!  It makes it so nice to be able to enjoy a meal with the adults 🙂

She broke out her gorgeous China for us passed down from her Grandma.  I love it!

And that’s a wrap!! We took several family photos and never could catch all the kids looking, smiling or keeping their hands out of their mouth; but we know that’s not an easy feat.  Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend!

Here’s a few past Easter celebrations to reminisce on too:
