Scenes From Our Weekend | The First of October

Happy October friends!!  I can’t believe we are entering the best three months of the entire year!! I’m so excited for the holidays and hopefully one day soon, some cooler weather!

On Thursday of this week, Brody and I snuck up to Atlanta for a quick 24 hour trip.   We had a last minute opportunity that we couldn’t turn down.  I lived in Atlanta for two years right out of college and several of my friends still live there.  They now have kids too, so I thought it would be fun to go for a visit.

We arrived Thursday around 11am and we headed straight for the Aquarium.   Brody loved it.  We had so much fun exploring.  We spent about 2.5 hours there, but you could honestly spend so much longer.  We missed the dolphin show which I was so sad about and they also had a sea lion show that looked good too.  Brody went through everything pretty quickly and we still managed to stay for a few hours.

He started getting tired and saying his legs hurt from walking so much, so we decided to call it a day.  We loaded up the car and I thought that he might fall asleep, but he actually didn’t.  We went to Phipps Plaza because I thought I might get the opportunity to sneak in a few stores, but instead we went straight to Lego land!! He loved playing there on the big playground.

After Lego land, we visited one of my friends to see her beautiful new house and her daughters.   We were all headed to dinner together that night, but without the kids; so I wanted to see her’s before dinner.  Then, we went to my friend, Jessica’s house.  That’s where we were staying for the night, so we got all settled in.   Brody was in heaven because she has two boys around his age.   The three of them were so cute together. We had a babysitter that evening that stayed with the boys and we escaped for the night for a fun Mexican dinner at Superica!

On Friday morning, we took our time getting our things together.  Then, we hopped in the car to go meet Jessica from Garvin and Co. for coffee.  We went to the Whole Foods coffee shop which was so cute because they had an indoor and outdoor play area for Brody.   Jessica is seriously the cutest.  I’ve been reading her blog for years and years and am always in awe of her creativity.  She is as sweet as you would imagine and I only wished I could have sat there with her all day long!

We got home Friday evening and just ordered pizza in and had a quiet night.  Saturday morning was Brody’s soccer game and also team picture day.   He smiled big for his photos and had his best game yet.  He didn’t score a goal, but he actually acted interested in playing and trying to get the ball 🙂

We grabbed some lunch after the game and watched the end of the Gator game!  We built Vandy.  Hooray!

Saturday was hot as HECK!  We were sweating our butts off at Brody’s game, but that evening I wanted to try on a few new items I received from the Shopbop sale.  I’m dying to wear some of my Fall clothes, but it’s just been too hot.  So, I wore this outfit to go pick up dinner for Matt and I.

I’m obsessed with this new top.  I love the length and it’s super comfortable.  I  would love to get it in another color.  I’m also loving these shoes!  I definitely started falling for the mule trend, but didn’t own any yet.  I wasn’t sure how they would look on me with skinny jeans.  Turns out that I love them!! They are so easy and so cute.

Sunday was the first day of October, so of course we had to sport our pumpkins.  We went out for breakfast and then went to the store to grab some pumpkins and Halloween decorations!!!

Ya’ll I’m so sad.  My favorite Vince Slip on Sneakers are already sold out.  This is my first time of actually gotten to wear them and I’m obsessed.  I love the color and picked these up during the Nordstrom sale.  They are gone! Has anyone seen them anywhere?

Sunday evening Matt and I had a charity function to go to and we left the kiddos behind.  We snapped a quick family photo before we left.  It makes me so happy to welcome October!!!

I hope everyone has a great week and a wonderful October 🙂
