Scenes From Our Weekend | Hurricane Nate

Hey friends, I hope everyone had a great weekend.  We had hurricane Nate headed our way this weekend, so we had few plans and just hunkered down a bit.

I wrote a post on Friday sharing some new clothes that had just arrived at my door.  J. Crew had an awesome sale this weekend with everything 30% off and there are several Friends & Family sales going on.  You can find it here.

Friday night we met some friends for dinner at our local Yacht Club.  It was a gorgeous evening with lots of space for the kids to run and even a playground.  It worked out really nice to have an early dinner.  The food was really good and we hope to go back again soon!

Saturday was game day!  The kids sported their best orange and blue for the Gators and we headed out to breakfast.  After breakfast we went to visit Matt’s Dad for a bit and then had to get ready for Brody’s soccer game.  We weren’t sure if they were going to play his game or not because of the hurricane pending, but they did!

Breakfast was so good at one of our favorite places, Polonzo Bistro.  I got the Toad in the Hole which is two pieces of toast with a fried egg in each and then topped with arugula, tomatoes, bacon and parmesan with a little oil and vinegar.  It’s so yummy.

Saturday afternoon we locked down a few things at the house to prepare for the hurricane and then Matt and I went to watch the football game downtown for a bit.  We had such a fun time and grabbed dinner while we were out with friends.

Sunday was a pretty lazy day.  The hurricane came through while we were all sleeping and even though we could hear the wind howling, we thankfully did not have any damage.

The kids dressed up in costumes, played with everything, and then we cooked some homemade pizzas and cookies for dinner.

I’m looking forward to the new week and hope to get a lot accomplished!!
