Scenes From Our Weekend | Labor Day Weekend + Dinner Party

Hey friends! I hope everyone had an enjoyable holiday weekend.  We enjoyed the weekend at home with just a few plans on the books.  On Friday night, we had 3 couples over for dinner with their kiddos.  I had spent a lot of this first full week with the kids back in school trying to purge and organize the house after all the summer craziness.  It has felt so good and I’ve been so happy to have a (somewhat) clean and clutter-free house again.  I used the excuse of having company over to really pick up and purchase some new fresh flowers :). We decided at the last minute to hire a babysitter to watch all of the kids while we had dinner and it was the BEST decision ever.  It made for such an enjoyable evening.  We just ordered them pizza and they played in the man cave while we visited and enjoyed our dinner.

It honestly feels like there are always toys, clothes and junk thrown all over our house, so I had to document this clean moment 🙂

On Saturday morning, we took the kids to meet some friends at the pool at Portofino.  We let the kids swim, had lunch and tried to soak up one of the last weekends of summer.  That afternoon the Gators kicked off their season.  We put on our team spirit and did our best to cheer them on.  Sadly, we still lost.  Matt and I had been invited to some friends house to watch the FSU vs Alabama game that night.  We got a babysitter and kissed the kiddos goodbye.

This swimsuit is so cute and flattering and been marked down from $300+ to $83!  It is part of the Labor Day sale and I’m hoping they extend it!

On Sunday we had a pretty lazy day.  Brody woke up around 5am with a high fever and said his throat was sore.  So we just hung around the house.  We had been invited to a little BBQ close to the house that evening, so we decided to still go and leave Brody at home with my MIL.  They snuggled up with a good movie and we went to the pool BBQ for a few hours.  It was a fun way to spend the extended weekend.

Most of Monday was spent just hanging out some more.  Thankfully Brody’s fever lasted less than 24 hours, but we didn’t want to get him around any other kids.  So we laid low and prepped for the week ahead.  I spent some time getting the house back in order and praying the kids would be well for school this week!!!

I hope everyone had a great weekend!! We are keeping our eye on hurricane Irma.  We are suppose to travel to the British Virgin Islands in less than two weeks.  I’m so sad because this hurricane looks like it could devastate that area just like Harvey has just done to Texas.  These hurricanes make me so sad.
