Scenes From Our Weekend | Mother’s Day

Happy Monday, Friends.

I started the weekend off with a big Blog Sale full of dresses! It was so much fun seeing all of your comments and emails come through.  I did learn a few new things from this sale that I had forgotten since it has been almost 3 years since my last sale.  I plan to share an updated post on my best tips for throwing your own blog sale because a few of you showed some interest.  Thanks to everyone who shopped.  I listed 30 dresses in the sale and all of them but 9 or 10 sold.  Most of them sold within the first hour or two!!  You girls were on your A game :).  All of the dresses shipped out today, so I hope you love them!

Friday morning we also had to take Madelyn to the hospital to get her ear tubes put in.   She was such a champ because Matt and I were prepared for the worst.  She was not able to eat or drink anything before her surgery, so we were worried she would be super cranky.  Thankfully it all went very smoothly and we were home by 9am recovering.  Recovery was brief and she was back to her old self in no time!

Friday night we actually had friends over to the house for some casual fish tacos and margaritas.  We had a great time, the kids played and we called it an early night!

Saturday we woke up and decided to head out to breakfast.  We went to our favorite Polonza Bistro and then came home to get ready to go to the beach.  Some friends of our from New Orleans were in town for the weekend and we met them at their beach house.  They had 6 kids there, so our two fit right in!  The kids had a blast.

Saturday evening we went to our friends house for a fun outdoor pool party and bbq!  It was a gorgeous night and the kids loved being able to play in the pool together.

Sunday morning we went back out to the beach for Mother’s Day.   We grabbed a quick breakfast and then hit the beach for a few hours.  The kids had fun playing and were pretty wiped out by the afternoon.  We had surprised my MIL that morning with tickets to Disney On Ice to take Brody during nap time.  She was so excited and so was Brody of course.

We got home in time to put Madelyn down for a nap and my MIL and Brody headed to the Disney on Ice Show.  We had dinner plans at 5pm at my Mom’s house to celebrate Mother’s Day.  The kids got dressed and off we went to the last hoorah of the weekend. We had a delicious dinner of veggie lasagna and pan sautéed chicken and salad!  It was so delicious.  It was the perfect way to end the weekend.   I love a good weekend at the beach with lots of family time!

Hope you all had a wonderful weekend 🙂
