Scenes From Our Weekend | Rosemary Beach

We just spent the weekend down in Rosemary Beach for our 5 year anniversary and decided to bring the kids. The whole trip came together at the last minute when we were discussing ideas to celebrate and Matt mentioned trying to sneak down there for the weekend.  It’s only a 2 hour drive for us and when I hopped on the internet to see what was available, I found the cutest little one-bedroom carriage house right in the heart of Rosemary.  We checked in Thursday evening and as soon as we got there, we went straight down to the beach.

The Hartsfield Carriage house was really cute.  It’s located right behind the Pearl hotel in a great location, just steps away from the beach, and just as cozy as can be. I was a bit worried about sleeping accommodations with the kids.  We had our own bedroom, but then the kids had to sleep together on the pull out couch in the family room.  We basically ended up all playing musical beds because Madelyn is just a bit too young to sleep this way. It all worked out though.

This was our view on our balcony.

Thursday night we walked to a little Mexican restaurant in Seacrest to grab a casual dinner outside.  We met up with some friends and let the kids run around a bit. My kids were pretty wiped out at this point, so we rushed through dinner pretty quick and got back home for an early night sleep.

Saturday morning the kids were up bright and early at 6am.  I have to say, it got really bright where they were sleeping; so I guess the sun woke them up.  We got in our swimsuits and hit an early breakfast at the Summer Kitchen Cafe just a block away.  After breakfast, we went and rented our bike carriage to drag the kids around in (they love it) and then hit the beach!

It was so gorgeous Saturday at the beach!  The temperature was perfect and the water was pretty cold, but it was tolerable to take a dip.

Madelyn and I were totally twinning.  I found these on sale at the end of last summer, so they aren’t available now; but you can see this season’s look here.

Friday night was our anniversary.  We had a sitter come at 5pm and we left for drinks at the Pearl Hotel Rooftop bar.  It’s so pretty there with a chic atmosphere and view of the Gulf.  We went across the street after drinks to have dinner at La Crema.  The food was so good!  It’s a tapas style restaurant and they have the most decadent dessert menu too. If you don’t make it for dinner, you need to go by to grab something sweet!

Saturday morning we decided to take a little bike ride around town.  The weather was warm, but not too hot which made for the perfect biking weather.   We stopped for breakfast at a new place called Grits and Grind in the SeaCrest Shopping plaza and then biked some more and stopped for donuts in Alys Beach and a quick run through the splash pad.’

We made it to the beach around 11am and I could tell Madelyn was already getting tired.  She played for a little bit and then crashed right in my lap.  I thought she might take a short nap, but ended up sleeping for 2.5 hours.  It was honestly so sweet and peaceful.  I was able to relax and watch Brody and Matt build sand castles and sip on a Bud Light Lime.  I was a pretty happy girl 🙂

I must have had two dozen of you ask about this little foldable pool that I shared on my instastories.  I bought this last year after my SIL brought it to the beach with us.  She found hers at HomeGoods one day and I immediately had to go on Amazon to find one.   It folds up so easily, so ours just stays in our beach toy bag and the kids love it.  It takes several buckets of water to fill up, but then the pool gets nice and warm for them to enjoy.  You can buy it here.  I’ve seen it listed all different prices for some reason, but be sure it’s showing $26.99.  That’s the cheapest I’ve seen it for so far.

Saturday night we had a babysitter come again at 5pm.  We met some friends for dinner at Edwards.  It was such a fun evening.  We had no idea that our friends were going to be down here when we booked the trip, but it was so much fun to catch up once we were there.  They all had kids our ages too!

The white dress I’m wearing above is from last summer and is sold out, but I also own it in this blue and white stripe which is on sale for almost half off!! I’ve loved this dress so much.  If you are a size XS or Medium, you need to snag one! I’m wearing a size large for reference. It’s a linen material, so you can see it gets a little wrinkled.

Sunday morning came too quickly and it was time to pack up and be checked out of of cute cottage.  We casually packed up, nibbled on some leftover donuts, and took the scenic route home.  We stopped at a super cute spot in Grayton Beach for breakfast called Hibiscus Cafe and then hit a few shops in Sandestin on our way home.

SO crazy – I live in VA but knew a friend was in Florida this weekend for a bachelorette party. She posted pictures of hanging out at the Pearl hotel pool on Friday night and I remembered that it looked amazing. Y’all were probably there at the same time. Such a small world! Looks like an amazing trip!

What a fun trip!! We are actually heading down for our first ever visit to RB this summer for a long weekend with our kiddos. Did you use a babysitting service? We will be celebrating our anniversary also while there and would love an adult only night out! Would love recommendations of trustworthy babysitters!
