Thoughts for Thursday

Morning Friends! Welcome to another Thoughts for Thursday.  It’s all about sharing anything that’s on your mind and connecting with other bloggers while you do it.  I love a good stream of random thoughts.  And that’s what I have for all of you today, so grab your coffee and enjoy.

+ I recently joined a group of fabulous ladies to moderate the Instagram account @SouthernMotherhood.  It’s an account to share all things Southern and bring Mothers together.  If you love monograms, bonnets, bows, and southern clothes; this account is for you!  You can tag photos with the hashtag #SouthernMotherhood for a chance to be featured on the site!  I will posting over there on Friday and doing a little bigger introduction (I’ve already done one-go check it out), so I would love for you to come tell me hello :). And tag your photos today, so I have the chance to share them.

+ Speaking of Motherhood, I am finding myself so short tempered lately.  I need to chill!!! I always know when it’s going to happen too.  It’s when I’m trying to accomplish things around the house, work on the blog, make a phone call, pay bills or something else pending and my kids want UNDIVIDED attention.  I know we all keep saying it, but somehow I need to figure out to have official slotted time for “work” stuff and then time to give undivided attention.  This is why I always feel happier when I go do something with the kids outside of the house because then I don’t have all the distractions inside the house.  Who’s with me???

+ And when I get down on myself about it, I remember that we give our children unconditional love and support and a roof over their heads.  My friend, Jennifer at Champagne Supernova, wrote such a real and honest piece about Life’s Playing Field Not Being Equal.  It’s so true and definitely had me reflecting about my childhood and the childhood of my own children.  I feel blessed every.single.day.

+ On a lighter note, Matt and I finished the first season of Billions this week.  I’m OBSESSED.  Don’t let the first scene of the season scare you away.  It’s really bad, but the rest of the show is really good.  It’s a Showtime series and you can either buy it on Amazon prime or watch On Demand if you subscribe to Showtime with your TV network.

+ My sweet friend, Natalie, who also hosts this link-up with me is having a Insta closet sale over at @ShopNandPcloset.  She is selling some super cute clothes of hers (Lilly Pulitzer, Mara Hoffman, Loft, etc) and also a few of her son’s smocked clothes.  Go take a look and pick up something cute.  She also has me wanting to do one myself.  It feels so good to purge!  I gave away about 2 bags full of stuff last week, but I know I could still do more!

+ Matt and I celebrate our 5 year anniversary this weekend!! We are sneaking away with the kids for a weekend at the beach and I can’t wait.  It will be nice to have some family time and fun in the sun!

See ya’ll next week 🙂

  2. I cannot imagine being a WAHM….it would really be hard to manage and budget that time. Happy 5th! I’m always envious of all your beach time!

Happy Anniversary!! Have a great weekend!! I hear you on the needing to chill. I need to learn to pick my battles (as do my kids)! I get nothing done – at all – at this point in my life (and my 2 year old stopped napping…wah!)! I love when Natalie does closet sales – you need to do it too (especially any extra Madelyn clothes you aren’t saving 😉 ).
