Thoughts for Thursday

+ End of Summer Sales – I had a lot of questions about the kids clothes from our family photos we took a few weeks ago.  I wanted to share with you guys some of my favorite places to shop for the kids.  Almost all of them have huge sales going on all their Spring inventory that is left.  This is actually my favorite time to shop.  I love to get clothes for the kids for next year during these sales.  You can head to each store for discount codes or the prices will already be marked.  Born Boutique, Brothers & Sissies, Dondolo, TBBC, Bella Bliss.

+ Madelyn Sleeping Update – I mentioned last week on Thursday that we were having major trouble with Madelyn at bed time.  She did not want to go down at her normal 730pm bedtime and she was screaming and crying at her door and waking up in the middle of the night.  She was just all out of whack since summer has started.  Thankfully, we were really disciplined for a whole week and we were able to get her back on track.  We re-established our bedtime routine by reading two books, singing, and saying our prayer. Then she would climb into her bed like a good girl and put herself to sleep.  Fingers crossed it keeps working!  Thanks for ya’lls feedback last week 🙂

+ Barefoot Contessa back on TV – One of my favorite things I used to do was put on the Food Network during nap time around 3pm and veg out to my favorite cooking shows.  I love Ina most, but also enjoyed Giada and the Pioneer Woman.  Then sometime last Fall maybe, they just all stopped coming on.  I was so sad.  It turned out they just moved the shows from the afternoon time slots to the mornings and I didn’t realize it. Now, I record Ina and I can watch her during nap time again!  I love getting some cooking inspiration.

+ The Shack – This never happens, but last night Matt needed to help his Mom out with something at her house and he took both kids with him.  It was 6pm and I had my house ALL to myself.  It felt so weird and so good!  I decided to do a little work on my computer and rent a movie.  I rented The Shack.  I never read the book but heard it was really good.  It’s about a man who loses his youngest child and finds himself on a spiritual journey of healing.  Even though it had a sad plot, it really became a feel-good, thought-provoking movie.  Rent it if you haven’t already.

+ Nordstroms Sale – Are you tired of hearing about it yet ????  I feel certain you might be, so skip this if so.  I just wanted to remind you guys that the sale opens to the public tomorrow.  I will be sharing all of my favorites from the sale and trying on a few of the items I purchased.  You can see a roundup of everything I love so far, here.

That wraps things up for today!  Happy thirsty Thursday.  Hope you have a great day.

So glad you were able to get Madelyn back on track with her sleeping habit. It’s hard for kids to go to bed in the Summer when the sun says out until 9:00!

  6. Food Network is one of my favorite channels too. I’m glad you got your little one back on her bedtime routine. That’s rough at the end of the day. My girlfriend owns the cutest children’s store in Franklin, TN and you would totally love it. They have an online boutique as well called The Little Cottage (https://thelittlecottagechildrensshop.com/) You should check it out!
