Thoughts for Thursday

Hey friends!! I have a bit of a random array of thoughts for you today.  Here goes…

+ I’ve spent the last two weeks or so trying to cut back on sugar and breads in my diet.  It always amazes me every time that I do this how much I actually STOP craving these things.  After just a couple of days, my body stops craving that bite of something sweet or that bread to go along with my turkey or breakfast.  I’ve already noticed a difference in my mid section.  I have been eating scrambled eggs for breakfast.  I’ve been loving adding a little green onion and cut up ham to my scramble.  For lunch, I’ve been eating something similar to the photo below and for dinner it’s just been meat and veggies or a salad.  I have a round up of dinners we’ve made lately that I need to share with you guys.  Lots of them come from the Skinnytaste cookbook.  She has lots of great options for low carbs and low-cal meals.

+ This is the dress that Madelyn wore on her first day of school.  Madelyn came home that afternoon from school and found a RED PERMANENT MARKER.  She colored all over her brand new dress.  I was so sad.  Here’s a photo of it after a couple of washes, but I now can proudly report that the stains are GONE!!! I reached out to some IG readers for tips on how to get the stains out and it worked!!! First, I tried rubbing alcohol and nail polish remover.  That helped a little.   Then I tried hairspray and that REALLy helped.  But, the best product of them all was a spray called AWESOME.  You can actually find it on Amazon, but it is also sold at the Dollar General.  Ya’ll I can’t speak highly enough about this.  I have been a tried and true oxyclean girl, but now I’m all about the Awesome spray!! My kids love to ruin clothes, so this is huge.

+ I just hit my 100th class at Pure Barre this week.  I’ve always loved PB, but I kind of go in and out of going to classes.  I’ll go like 4 times in one week, but then not go for 4 weeks.  Pure Barre has now introduced a new class called Empower.  I’m obsessed.  I really love it.  It’s a higher intensity, break a sweat after 5 minutes, type of class. It’s exactly what I’m looking for and can’t wait to continue.  Has anyone else taken it yet??

+ I have been on a MAJOR organizing kick lately.  I’ve tackled our playroom/office closet and our pantry this week and also knocked out a few pretty daunting projects that were on my to-do list.  Now, I’m dying to tackle my closet.  I really want to do some major purging.  I’m tired of tripping over clothes and I’m ready to see some space between my hangers!  I don’t know if that will ever happen, but it’s time to let go.  I have jeans hanging in my closet from my junior year of college like they will ever fit again or will ever be cool again???  That was ten years ago…so sad.   So, I need to spend a lot of time in there getting organized.  I will share photos of my spaces soon!  I always love seeing how other people get organized!

I’m going to call it a night!  Have a good one.

  5. Skinnytaste is my go-to! I love carbs SO much but you’ve inspired me to maybe give it a try.

  6. I’ve been trying to reduce my carb intake lately too. I really like it, and I feel great! The only downfall I find is when we go out, so often my only option is a salad… That gets kind of old. I’ve been seriously wanting to try a Barre class FOREVER but the closest one to me is over an hour away. Womp womp.

Awesome can be found at Dollar Tree too… well, here in southwest Missouri at least!
I need to take this as inspiration to gut my closet. I too hoard jeans for some reason… deep in my heart I know that I don’t want to wear jeans from The Buckle ever again so why the heck are they taking up precious space. Ahhh!

I found a shirt covered in chocolate milk that had been next to the hamper for a few days. I was sure it would have to be tossed but it came out like new!
We made our first tomato pie this weekend and I thought of you. We loved it. xoxo
