Thoughts for Thursday

Hi Friends!

Can you believe we have two days left of September???  I’m so excited that October is here!  The only thing that would be make it better is cool weather!  Now that our finale summer trip is over, I’m ready for all things pumpkin, furry, cozy and Fall! I feel like I have this closet full of sweaters and jeans begging me to wear them, but with no place to go 🙁

Today is all about a few random and fun things this week.  I’ve discovered a couple of new shows, excited for a few that our returning, and trying to close out some books that I need to finish reading!  So here’s the scoop…

Television

+ I started The Sinner on USA network. Whoa… psychological thriller at it’s finest.  There is just one season out with 8 episodes right now.  I’m half way through it.  Don’t make the mistake that I did which was start the season on a night that my hubby was out of town.  I went to bed with my heart racing and a little sketched.   It’s not a scary show though, its just suspenseful; so I don’t want to talk you out of watching it.   I’m excited to finish it!

+ Todd Chrisley has a new show, According to Chrisley.  It’s a stand up.  I watched a few minutes of the first episode and I was underwhelmed.  I love the family show, Chrisley Knows Best, and can’t wait for that to come back this Fall though!  Who else watches this one??

+ Don’t Be Tardy!  It’s coming back on October 6th.  I was late to this party, but I’m so happy I found it.  I love this reality show with Kim Zociak and Kroy Biermann.  It films them and their 6 kids in Atlanta and it’s complete chaos, but very entertaining.

Books

Ya’ll, I’m literally in the middle of four books right now.  I am almost finished with the Wellness Project which I’m listening to on Audible.  Then I got inspired to read Khloe Kardashians book on my Kindle after I binged watched her show, Revenge Body.  Her book is called Strong Looks Better Naked.   Then, I have two other books sitting on my Kindle that I just can’t seem to finish.  One is The Nightingale which I started like 6 months ago and the other is Crazy Rich Asians.  I really need to get it together.  I hate them all hanging over me.  I was hoping to do some reading while we were on vacation, but I did zero!!  Tell me, will you guys just abort a book 1/3 of the way through??  I feel like I HAVE to go back and finish them!  Should I just let them go???

Fashion

I have my eye on a few cute things at J. Crew right now.

I love this new plaid for this season.

And this elastic waist wool ruffle skirt.

And how about these two precious pink vests??

  1. I do love Chrisley Knows Best – they crack me up! New shows are on now, though I totally forgot to watch it on Tuesday night. I got distracted by other shows coming back, I guess.

I’ll definitely stop reading books if I’m really not feeling them – I try not too, for the most part, but no point in wasting time!!

I gave up on The Nightingale. I read maybe 1/2. My reading time is too precious to feel like I have to finish books – I wouldn’t have said that 4 years ago though. Love your fall pics, but also love it still feels like summer!

I am in the same boat as you with my reading right now- literally in the middle of three books all at once. When I feel inspired, its of course all at once-ha!

I absolutely cannot put a book down until I’ve completely finished it, even if it sucks! Which is why I usually only read books that have been recommended with a good review so I don’t waste my time!

I’ve been trying to read All the Light We Cannot See for like 6 months….every time I pick it back up I’ve forgotten what was going on. I just don’t have mom brain left for harder reads these days but like you I always hate not completing!

YES to all of the pink vests. I really need to get on the audible train and start listening to books now that I never have time to read them.

I will abort a book but only if it’s because I don’t like the book or it’s a bad book. If I’m just distracted or not into it, I’ll wait and come back to it. I’m almost always glad I did. Sometimes it helps me get back into the swing of reading if I read an easy read I know I’ll like and then after I’m in the habit again, finish one I put down. Good luck!
