Thoughts for Thursday | Hurricanes are Hard

Hey friends.  I feel like we’ve had a rough start to the week.  My kids got sick over the Labor Day holidays and it has made this week TOUGH!!  Why is it so hard to Mama to sick kids?  I’ve lost my cool more times than I can count and then feel terrible because I know that every sick baby just wants their Mama.
So, on the same note of feeling sorry for myself, I have been keeping a close eye on this hurricane Irma because I was supposed to be vacationing down there for a week on the 15th (no kids)!! I really just want to cry for selfish reasons and then I snap out of it and then want to cry for all these beautiful islands losing everything with very little protection.
It’s been so hard to watch these national disasters affect our country and so many people’s lives.  I know we have all been affected by these storms or know friends or family that have been.  It’s been amazing to watch our country come together and help and support and I know we will have to do more of that this coming week. Let’s pray for everyone in harms way of hurricane Irma and do everything we can to protect ourselves from this this hideous storm.
This photo is from Tortola in the British Virgin Islands where we were supposed to board our cameraman for the week.  This photo was taken the day before Irma hit..
This photo was taken yesterday after Irma hit 🙁
This photo was taken from the Soggy Dollar Live Web Cam during the storm for anyone that is familiar with this beach bar…
And this floating bar was what I was hoping to be floating on in those beautiful blue waters of the BVI”s for a whole week.
Pray for these islands and their entire livelihoods. I pray for all the people in Texas who are still coping with hurricane Harvey and for all those about to be affected by more of hurricane Irma.  I will continue to watch this storm closely and hopes it doesn’t change paths to the Florida panhandle!

It is all SO sad. We went to St. John for my 30th birthday and I wanted to honeymoon in the BVI’s next summer or the out islands of the Bahamas. I keep telling myself to not be so bratty because I am safe and everything is just fine in Nashville. Hoping they don’t get hit again with another hurricane. I was really looking forward to reading about your vacation! I am sorry that it did not work out:(
