Thoughts for Thursday | Life Lately

Hey friends!! Back for another Thoughts for Thursday today with Natalie.  I thought I would do a little life update today.  Things seems so busy this time of year and I’m trying to take it all in.

+ Family Photos :

Ya’ll, I know I say this every year; but they are SO hard.  Madelyn was so miserable, we really weren’t prepared to be patient and let things happen organically.  We were rushing from the rain that was peering over and it was just a mess.  We got a few good pictures throughout, but photos of all four of us were near impossible!

+ My little wrapping Elves :

Every night these two have been my cutest little elves.  About five years ago, Matt decided he was taking over the Christmas wrapping part of Christmas.  He loves wrapping presents, he’s really good at it, and I was thrilled to take that task off my list.  Brody is begging to help with wrapping as soon as Matt walks in the door.  He has to pull all the wrapping stuff out every night after Madelyn goes to bed and they wrap a few gifts.  I love watching them.

+ Christmas Cards Ordered :

I’ve prided myself in years past to have my cards ordered right before Thanksgiving, so they arrive the week after and I can have my cards out the first week of December.  This year, I’ve been so behind and didn’t have a photo I really wanted to use and finally I just bit the bullet and ordered them.  I ordered again from Minted this year.  I think I’ve used everyone at this point: Shutterfly, Tiny Prints and Minted.  I’ve been stuck on Minted these last few years because I love the paper quality, my addresses are already loaded in the system for free address printing, and they always have cute ones to choose from! I’ll share mine with you guys as soon as I get them in the mail!  The above card is not ours, but I love this photo of Brody loving on Rudolph!

+ Reindeer Food :

Do yourself a favor and DO NOT pick up this stuff from Target.  Holy cow.  It’s heaven.  I served it at our North Pole Elf breakfast, but Brody totally missed it.  He’s caught me eating it several times and I told him it was reindeer food and he wouldn’t like it.  He’s never asked for it again! Ha.

+ Bits of Cheer Link-Up :

Jess at The Newly, Amy of Keepin’ Up with the Smiths, and Alisha of Simply Luxury are running a cute link-up every Thursday during the month of December to spread a little bit of Christmas cheer.  I always love to see what everyone is doing during the holidays so this is a great way to share.  Grab the button and link up with the girls any time this month.

+ Christmas PJ Party Link-up :

There is also one of my favorite PJ party link ups happening next Thursday.  It is the kid Christmas Jammie link-up.  Throw your kids in their favorite holiday pj’s and try to snap a cute photo of them…we know how hard this can be!  You might want to start trying now 🙂

+ Christmas Party Photo Booth :

We had a photo booth at our Christmas Party last weekend.   They did it for the first time last year and it was such a big hit with everyone, we did it again this year.  I love it and each year they keep getting more creative with the props!  This is a great suggestion for your next party.  Everyone loves a Photo Booth and a hashtag 🙂

Link up with Natalie and I below for Thoughts for Thursday! You can share anything!

  1. Why are pictures with toddlers so impossible. I get beyond frustrated. That family shot is great though! Love that Brody wants to wrap, how cute! Totally going to target to pick up that reindeer food now. Yum!

Love the update. I feel like even the best family Christmas pictures are stressful, so I feel your pain. Also, I found a recipe for Reindeer Chow on Pinterest and made it with Shep last night, it was a blast (and so addicting). Don’t recommend it either 🙂

I gave up on Christmas Family photos because someone always looked terrible in the photo. So now I do photo cards with multiple photos on them. Works far better!

I can’t wait to see your Christmas card, I’m sure it turned out great! That’s soo cute Brody loves helping wrap. I wish I could say I enjoy wrapping presents but I really don’t… maybe I should suggest Garrett taking over that job 😉

Oh man, I got so excited to see Jess at The Newly was a part of your linkup but then when I clicked on her blog it’s still private for invited readers only 🙁 🙁

I was really hoping to get an update on her third baby! I don’t even know if it was a boy or a girl.

Also, your daughter’s shoes are always so cute!
