Thoughts for Thursday | School, Shopping, & Fall TV

Welcome to Thoughts for Thursday!  Here’s a quick look a few things that have been in my head this week.

Meet The Teachers

Monday of this week was Meet the Teacher Day.  Madelyn is going to be in the 2’s class and has one of the same teachers that Brody had when he was in the 2’s.   We were very excited and love her co-teacher as well.  Brody is in Pre-K 4 and has two brand new teachers and a large class of lots of new kids.  We loved meeting his teachers and are looking forward to the new year.  I dressed both of the kids up in the same outfits that they wore on the first day of school last year.  I couldn’t help but comparing the two pictures.  Madelyn has obviously changed the most with all that new curly hair!

First Day of School

Wednesday was the kids first day of school! It went so well! I was a little nervous actually because Brody is now actually in Pre-K instead of Mom’s morning out and Madelyn is just such a Mama’s girl, I was worried how she would be.  They both did AWESOME!  Madelyn cried a little bit when I left, but recovered quickly.  Brody walked in like a champ!

New TV Shows for Fall

Who is excited for Fall TV??  Does anyone watch TV shows anymore or just Netflix series?  I’m dying to start watching Ozark on Netflix.  Has anyone started it?  I watched a little bit of the new series on Netflix called Friends from College.  I couldn’t really get into it completely.  My Mom just binged watch the series Atypical on Netflix and said it was really good. Has anyone seen that??  As for TV, I saw the new Below Deck is coming back this Fall.  Also a Vanderpump Rules spinoff with Britany and Jax in Kentucky.  My favorite’s Chrisley’s Know Best is returning in September on USA and I’m pretty excited about that.  I hate to love them.  The Kardashians of course are coming back with their 9 million spinoffs.  I hope not to watch them this season, but I’m sure I will.  Has anyone seen some knew spinoff with Khloe?? She’s my favorite of the group.  It’s called Revenge Body.  I watched the first couple of episodes and liked it. Matt and I are currently still watching House of Lies on Showtime which we really like.  The shows are only 30 minutes long which I like and each episode almost comes to a close, so if you miss some, you are not completely out of the loop!

Martha’s Vineyard post

I finally got our first Martha’s Vineyard post up yesterday from our trip.  I’m sorry it has taken me so long.  There were so many photos to sort through.  I will have the final part of the trip up on the blog tomorrow.  If you have any questions, please feel free to ask!  We had a lot of fun and enjoyed our week there!

Lilly Pulitzer Sale

Monday (8am EST) starts the much anticipated Lilly Annual Sale.  It’s always a shit-storm of a process because they actually have a virtual waiting line to log-in to their site the morning of the sale.  BUT, it’s worth it!  My best tips are to make sure that you already have a log-in account with all of your information saved.  That includes your credit card information, so you can check out as quickly as possible.  Get up early in the morning as soon as the sale starts and try to log-in.  The line does move fast even if it tells you that you are number 65,000 in line!  Try to start deciding what you are hoping to purchase from the sale now.  I know that I want to try and grab some clothes for Madelyn and maybe a couple of easy dresses for myself during the sale.  I will go directly to that and try and check out as fast as possible so items don’t slip away from my cart!  You will get free shipping during the entire three days of the sale, so you can always go back for more if you need to.

Tory Burch Sale

Tory Burch is also running their end of summer sale.  They have items marked down up to 60%.  Here are a few of my favorite shoes in the sale.  I own these pink wedges which were my favorite from summer and they are now marked down to almost $100.  They have quite a few sizes left!

Shopbop Sale

Shopbop is also having an end of summer sale and offering an extra 20% off select sale items with code TREAT20!

This dress that I wore in Martha’s Vineyard is part of the sale plus lots of other great pieces!  I love this one because it will carry into Fall nicely with some cute booties.

  1. I was always so sad when my kids outgrew the bubble suits! I can’t even with how adorable her hair is…and that dress with the little bobby socks! They are precious and have grown up so much. I think I remember when I first started following you Brody was just starting to eat “real” food and you were looking for ideas. Hope they have a great year!

  8. Happy to find your linkup. Your two littles are too cute! Love the side-by-side comparison with just last year. It documents that we aren’t crazy; our kids really do grow that fast. 🙂 Thanks for hosting this. Had to share it on Pinterest and Twitter.

  9. Your kiddos are adorable! I love that bubble on your daughter at the top of the post. It’s amazing how much they grow in a year! I have an 18 month old and a 2 month old, and time is flying!

They are so so cute!! I can’t believe how big they look this year, they’re growing up so fast. Can Brody tie his shoes? I was just thinking the tie shoes look cuter but I can’t imagine Miller actually tying them himself haha!
