Thoughts for Thursday | Toddler Trouble, TV, & Shopping

Hey guys! Sorry I’m behind today.  I can’t seem to get my shit together because my 22 month old has decided she has no interest in going to bed at night anymore (kicks and screams) and then wants to have a party in her room every night at 2am!!! Seriously, I’m over it!!

Summer has totally messed us up.  We’ve rolled into this lax schedule of later nights, family movies, and outside fun and it’s done nothing, but cause us seriously problems at bedtime.  I really don’t know what has gotten into her, but she doesn’t want the party to stop every day.  She used to walk out of my lap and into her bed all by herself every night at 7pm sharp.  Now she goes nuts over an 8pm bedtime.   Please send help or tell me I’m not the only one with these problems??

You may remember that we had to change her crib to a toddler bed when she was a mere 18 months old!! That was the beginning of our demise even though we did have a few good periods in the mix.  I’m ready to put her crib back together and trap her in with the crib tent until she is 3 years old!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

On a cuter note, today is National Beaufort Bonnet Company Day.  The company turns 5 years old already.  I honestly didn’t really know about them one Brody was a baby since that was 4 years ago (insert tears), but I have grown obsessed with them.  I love their sunsuits, hats, bonnets, swimsuits and sweet dresses.  I will be very sad the day my kids are grown out of all their clothes!!  They also have all of their Spring and Summer clothes on sale right now which is my favorite time to load up for next season!!!

Matt and I started a new TV Series last night.  It’s called House of Lies on Showtime.  Have any of you ever watched this one??  We just made it through 2 episodes.  I’m not sure if we are going to like it or not, but I do love Kristen Bell.  We have been in such a TV rut lately.  I wanted something that we would both like.  If anyone has any TV Series that you could recommend for both him/her, I would love it.   So far we’ve done: Narcos, Billions, House of Cards, Bloodline, Suits, Ballers.   That gives you an idea of what we like…

Lastly, I’m pretty impressed with the Nordstrom Anniversary sale this year.  I got a debit card last year before the sale. so I am able to shop the big anniversary sale starting today.   I haven’t actually placed my order yet because the site seems to be fairly wonky.   I think there is just traffic overload.  I did a post yesterday sharing all the items that I purchased during the sale last year and a few things that I had my eye on.  I honestly bought so many things last year, I feel like I loaded up on all the good staples.  So many cute booties, boots, sweaters and jeans!  Of course I’ve still fallen for some goodies this year and I’ll share them with you along the way.  For now, here’s some items on my list:

My hubs and I like to watch together some of the same tv series you mentioned, so I think we may have similar tastes!! Others ones that have appealed to us both: Empire, Entourage (super old I know but you can watch it on HBOGO I think), 13 Reasons Why (Netflix), and the new Limitless series (Netflix)!

  2. House of Lies was so good. I’m sad it ended after 5 season. Have you watched Homeland? It’s on Showtime and really good!

I have no kids but I can imagine that is stressful. She is absolutely gorgeous though. So the cuteness might erase some of the 2 am frustration hehe

Recently found your blog and love it!! I have a 2.5 year old (and a 14 month old) and we are having major sleep issues this summer too. Like I’m about to come unglued! He used to nap and go to bed so easily but now it’s all a fight! And making us lay down with him ? I’m thinking maybe it’s bc it doesnt get dark here until 9:30. Haha wish I had some advice but I have yet to figure it out! Just wanted to say you’re not alone. Stay strong mama!

Do you watch ballers on HBO ? The third season start soon, it’s a quick 30 minute show and so fun. We also like Silicon Valley ( hbo too), I think it was the fourth season that just ended.
I have got zero sleep advice — except starbucks new coconut milk drinks are so good and should make the day a little easier..

I’m with you on the Summer sleep issues! It’s a disaster in our house and both kids want to be up until midnight every night. If we didn’t force them to sleep, they would party all night. I’m so exhausted!
