Thoughts for Thursdays | Confessions

Welcome to Thoughts for Thursdays! I thought I would share some confessions today.  These are always fun posts to read and I have a few random things to share.  So here goes…

I confess that I really love February.  It can probably be a boring and cold month for lots of people, but for us it always ends up super busy.  Between Valentine’s Day and Mardi Gras, we also celebrate my birthday and Matt’s!  And this year we’re squeezing in a Disney trip too, so it’s going to be extra exciting.

I confess that I’m always torn between decorating for Valentine’s Day or Mardi Gras for the month of February.  I usually decorate for Mardi Gras, but now that I have kids; it’s fun to have Valentine’s Day stuff too!

I confess that I’ve really been trying to be a more thoughtful eater. And by thoughtful eater, I mean thinking twice about what I put in my mouth. I’ve been cutting alcohol, eating salads over sandwiches and eggs over English muffins. I have a full post I plan to share on small changes that are making a bigger difference.  I’m feeling better and hope to keep it up and shed a few more pounds.

I confess that even though I’ve been a more thoughtful eater, I have not been a good exerciser.  I truly love to exercise, but it’s definitely been taking a back seat lately.  I make a Pure Barre class here and there, but I need to be more consistent.  I’m trying to squeeze in more afternoon walks with the kids too.

I confess that I bought a double BOB stroller on Craigslist last weekend.  It was my first Craigslist purchase and I was really excited about it.  I bought it for $230 when they usually run about $550 to $600 new.  It’s definitely used, but works just fine for us and is still in good shape!  It’s encouraging me to take more of those afternoon walks mentioned above too!

I confess that even though I miss my hubby when he is out of town, I do love a night off cooking where I can just eat soup, salad or cereal 🙂

I confess that I became an AUNT again this week.  My nephew was born on Monday, January 30th.  He is absolutely precious and made it home safely yesterday.  Mama and baby are doing great!

I confess that I am the worst at making appointments (especially doctors).  I’m such a procrastinator and never want to go.  I finally made an appointment to get my car serviced this week which is like 5,000 miles over due.  That’s a big step in my list of appointments to knock out.  Hopefully I can keep it going.

I confess that I’ve been in the best mood and I’m so excited for Spring.  I’ve been inspired by blogging, we have some  really fun trips on the horizon and my kids are seriously at an age that I could just eat them up.  I’m really loving this stage and age.  They fight plenty, don’t worry; but that means they also play together which is the key!  Madelyn is officially down to one nap a day, so that puts them on the same schedule and makes life so much easier!

I confess that one of my friends who is an amazingly talented artist just posted this week a photo from Lisa Vanderpump’s Instagram of her art work (see below)!! I have such a woman crush on Lisa (my SIL met her in LA a year ago) and then she bought my friends art and it’s hanging in her house! How awesome is that??  You can follow her art on Instagram @hollymabrypoole_art.   I’m supposed to do an art show at my house sometime this Spring with her work and I will share more info about her.  I’m so excited she got a plug from Lisa!

I confess that we took some family pictures last weekend that I’m totally obsessed with.  This was our first time using this photographer and she did an amazing job!! I will share lots of photos soon.

I love these confessions….sounds like you’re enjoying a really great season of life! I confess that I need to clean up my eating around here. We’ve felt like we’ve been on some sort of “vacation” from reality but I can tell my jeans are getting tighter!

  3. Yes to the husband being out of town thing! I hate when he’s gone, but do love that we can eat a mixture of PBJ’s or grilled cheese or Chick-fil-A all week. 😉

I found a BOB double stroller at a yard sale a few years back for $100…I didn’t really need it (I had a cheaper jogger that was just fine) but you had better believe I grabbed it right up and I’m looking forward to pulling it out again for baby #5!!!

Love confessions posts! I also hate when my husband leaves town but the simplicity of meals is amazing!! I was also really inconsistent with exercise and mindful eating this fall and have jumped back on that wagon…though truthfully I love Valentine’s candies far more than Halloween or Christmas!

  7. Oh my goodness- I love LVP so how amazing that she bought one of your friend’s pieces!! WOW!!

I started eating better about 6 months ago and I cannot believe the difference it has made! My whole shape is changing (in a good way) so way to go on making it happen in your life 🙂 It’s not easy but it’s so worth it!

I always love a good ol’ confessions post! Beautiful family photo of you all! We need to get some updated family photos done! What a steal on that stroller! I’ve been searching for a used double jogger for a while now and I think I’m just going to have to buy new. Boohoo. Your not alone on the lack of exercise 😉 Congrats on your nephew!
