Our Week in Vail | March 2017

We are back from a super fun week in Vail with the whole family! I have so many photos, I couldn’t narrow them down; so you are stuck seeing about 100 of them (plus a video I made).  This was a trip that we had planned to take back in December between Christmas and New Years, but we had to cancel it because Madelyn came down with RSV.  We were able to reschedule it for this past week in March and it couldn’t have been more beautiful!  The weather was absolutely gorgeous the whole week was so warm.  It was really the perfect time to have the kids out there.   It was also really nice because we just beat the Spring Break crowds by about a week, so nothing was too crowded.

We definitely couldn’t have done this trip without our Mom’s! The Grandmas were amazing and made this trip so fun.  My MIL doesn’t ski, so she was kind enough to stay with Madelyn each day while we took Brody to ski school each morning and did some skiing of our own.  We switched it up each day and sometimes we would all meet up for lunch together and other days we would just meet at the house in the afternoons.  I swear the kids loved the cooler weather and they even got to see a little  snow fall one day.

I know several of you had messaged me about upcoming trips you are going on this Spring or next year.  Getting a 3 year old to ski school can be tough.  They start ski school at age 3 and you can choose how many days you want them to go.  Brody was signed up for 5 days and went every single day.  I honestly believe that it’s so important to be consistent with them.  He cried really hard the first two days that we dropped him off.  The first day we actually dropped him off and then went by on our skis so that we could spy on him and make sure he was doing okay.  Once he was outside and skiing, he was so happy.  So by day 3, we dropped him off, he gave us a high 5 and said he’ll see us at pick-up.  He was a champ.  It made me so proud.   We always went to pick him up a few minutes early because we loved watching him ski the last few minutes of class.  At this age, they don’t ski the whole day.  They ski one hour in the morning and one hour in the afternoon.

If you have any questions about it, feel free to ask.  Going to Colorado as a family is something that I grew up doing and hope to continue to be able to do with my kids for a long time.  I dreamed about the day that I would be able to put my first child on skis!  And it was so fun to see.  Good luck getting to the end, this is a long one.

I love love LOVE Vail! We went in 2013 and it was the best skiing of my life – I live in Philly so the Poconos simply cannot compare haha! And the 10th is one of the best restaurants I’ve ever eaten at! So glad you guys were able to get out there and that Brody loved ski school 🙂

I’m a terrible skier, but this looks so fun! And it looks like a beautiful town with lots of cool restaurants! We might have to try skiing again when our kids are a little bigger!

Looks like an amazing time was had by all. So nice that your MIL was there too. Also, I a, so envious of your video making skills!! Such a treasure. When my laptop kicks (and I may have to help it along) I need to go Apple and get good with iMovie. Are you shooting everything with your iPhone?

Yes I am but after making this video I realized that I need to learn to shoot video horizontal instead of vertical! Would make for a much better picture ?

Hi Annie! Beautiful pictures and cute little snow bunnies all bundled up 😉

We are traveling to the Pensacola Beach area next week for a little R&R and would love some recommendations of some casual and nice places to eat. We are staying at the Hilton on the beach!

Thanks in advance and have a great Wednesday!
