Brody’s Fishing 7th Birthday Party

I can’t believe my baby is SEVEN!!!

A couple of months ago when I was asking Brody what he wanted to do for his birthday, he immediately said he wanted a fishing party! I loved the idea and took a little while to think about what would be the best way to do that!  They were still a little young to take a group of them out fishing in the Gulf, so I decided to keep it safe and use fishing as the theme and let the kids swim and just fish off the dock.  Since we aren’t in our new house yet, my Brother and SIL were kind enough to let us use their house!

His birthday fell on a Saturday this year which was fun, so he woke up early Saturday morning to some surprises downstairs and some homemade waffles.  He was sooo excited to get a Nintendo Switch that he had been asking for forever!!!  I actually had such a hard time finding it because of COVID and know I paid a premium for the one we got!

After a quick breakfast, it was time for me to run to my Brother and SIL house to get ready for the party.  I tried to set up the best I could ahead of time, but you know how much has to still be done the day of!  The whole party was based around these precious invitations and party swag from Nico & Lala.  These girls are the BEST! They do custom invites for weddings and parties but they also have great preset invitations that you can find here!!!

We had custom cookies and cake made locally based on the invitations.  The cookies are from Kate’s Cakes in Pensacola and the Cake is from Cake Gallery.  Cookie tags, plates, cups and napkins are all custom from Nico & Lala.

I was attempting to hang some fish netting here on the doors and had these cute paper fish to hang from Oriental Trading, but I could not get the netting to hold for the life of me!! I didn’t want to do anything to mess up my brothers doors, so it all just kind of fell.  But thankfully the balloon garland stayed up for us!! haha.

I made little dirt cakes for the kids with these cute plastic fishing poles from Oriental Trading.

We served mimosas in my SIL’s cute Revo Beverage Barge and had Moe’s Mexican deliver food for the party.  This is the second time we have done this and they make it so convenient and easy!! I can’t say enough great things.

The kids ate, swam and fished their little hearts out. I bought a bunch of these little fishing poles for the kids and used the rubber fish that came with it so we wouldn’t have any hook accidents.  Some of the Dad’s helped the boys fish with some real fishing poles too.  We also bought this super fun blow up slide for the party.  This was a hit and right around $100.
