Woodland Animal Baby Shower

You all know that I love an excuse to throw a great party. But a new baby in the family is one of the most special reasons to celebrate! I recently hosted a baby shower for my niece, Kayla. She is having a little boy and is due any day now! The theme was woodland animals and it really turned out cute. Here are a few pictures of some of my favorite details of the day.

I thought that these oversized blocks were so cute and a really eye-catching decoration. You can buy them in any combination of letters; I bought B-A-B-Y and filled them with balloons to match our color scheme. Another cute option would be to spell the baby’s name! You can find them online here.

I reserved an area to place cards and gifts on the mantel. I love a banner above the fireplace! I purchased most of my printed decor from Kate Aspen. This is an online party accessory shop that I love. They have many collections available for weddings, showers, and all sorts of themed parties. They actually already had a woodland animal collection as one of their baby shower themes, so it was super easy for me to go online and choose the items that I wanted. It all turned out so cute, and coordinated nicely!

You can buy the signs as a set (found here), and the banner and surrounding decorations are also part of this online collection.

Cake and cookies at the dessert bar! The cookies were made by Sweet Creations in Gulf Breeze. I really liked the slightly rustic look of the cake. We accessorized the tables with plenty of white flowers and greenery, which looked great with the printed decorations and theme.

A few shots of the gorgeous food table! There was something for everyone to enjoy here – so many delicious and pretty options! The girls really created a small masterpiece on this table. It almost felt like they were working on a puzzle, and the end result was just perfection! The spread included bagels, sandwiches, charcuterie, fruit, dips, and salads. They included some really fun appetizers, such as buffalo chicken pinwheels and a pineapple cheese ball that I am still thinking about!

When I am planning a shower, I love the idea of including plenty of personal touches that the guest of honor will love. The food choices are very important, especially when you have an expecting mama as the guest of honor! Kayla told us that she has been craving cheeseburgers and fries, peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, and Little Debbie oatmeal cookies…so we made sure that she got them!

Our table for the guest book (which will double as a book for the baby) and the cutest little favor boxes!

Another shot of the dessert table with the cutest paper plates!

A shot of some of the guests enjoying the food. I included some stationery for guests to write their “advice and wishes” for Kayla and the baby. I still remember getting these at my first shower when I was expecting Brody – everything is so helpful to a new mom.

Madelyn and Molly shared a seat at the foot of the table! I loved their matching dresses from Elizabeth Layne Heirloom.

I couldn’t resist renting these outdoor marquee letters from Alpha Lit Pensacola. They are just festive and fun! I thought they looked really striking when surrounded with balloons from Chelsi at Blushing Balloons, especially as the sun started to set in the evening.

And that’s a wrap! It was so much fun to shower Kayla with plenty of love, well wishes, and gifts! We are so excited to welcome Baby Boy Tullis to our family. There is nothing better than celebrating a new baby!
