My favorite party of the year. I always look forward to preparing and hosting this party every year. I am already dreaming about next years party as we celebrate the 10th annual!!!
Each year the premise is the same…cocktails, chit-chat, appetizers, sit down for dinner, and then get ready for game time! We play a big game of dirty Santa. Every one brings a wrapped gift without a name tag and we all draw numbers. I love seeing all the gifts that people bring. We set the gift limit high (this years limit was $125) in hopes to really be able to purchase something you truly love and would want (or already have) for yourself.
I hire help to prepare the food and serve and clean up in the kitchen during the party. That is a game changer! The first few years I threw this party, my Mom and I would make all the food and do all the prep and cleaning. We learned quickly that we needed to call in for help!
I also have always loved that the party makes me motivated to get the house completely decorated and ready for the holidays by the beginning of December! It gives me that extra boost to get it done.
If you have ever thought about hosting a party like this, I urge you to do it! It’s so much fun no matter how big or small you start out.
The Decor
The Food
Every year we change up the food menu but we have learned that having some real substance is always good! We go through quite a bit of wine throughout the evening and I’m always glad to make sure everyone has a full belly! I also always serve this fun Ms. Holiday Punch that is a hit too!
The Gifts
The gifts are always so fun to see! We usually see lots of jewelry, bags, hats, scarves, fur, entertaining goodies, etc! It’s always a mix of beautiful items and it always makes me happy to hear girls telling me that they have started shopping for the party as early as Sept/Oct! Everyone wants to have the best gift that gets stolen the most 🙂
