This week has been trial and error for me as I am home with him all day. We have been working on an eat, play, sleep schedule and it has gone pretty well, but not perfect. I wouldn’t expect perfect at all anyway.
He completely amazed us with this though…His second and third night in the crib, he slept COMPLETELY through the night. Not a peep. Over 10 hours straight both nights. We were flabbergasted. I don’t know what made him do this. I’m still trying to figure it out because now for the last 3 nights he is back to waking up around 3 or 4am to feed.
I think it has to do with how much he is eating at his last feeding around 830pm. He seems to be really hungry at his dinner feeding at 530pm and for those next couple of hours, but then less hungry at the final feeding and more sleepy. So a lot of times he just falls asleep on the boob. I need to work on really keeping him awake and make sure he eats enough, so he has a full belly to last him through the night. I have definitely found that my milk supply gets lower and lower as the day goes on. Its good in the mornings and thats when I make sure to pump after I breastfeed, but is lower by evening time.
Anyway, its a work in progress; but we’ve had a great week together just me and him! Here’s a few photos from our week.
