We celebrated Brody’s 10th birthday last week with a fairly last minute party with friends at the house. We were out of town for his actual birthday this year and so we had celebrated his birthday while on vacation with family, but he still wanted to have a little get together with his buddies when we got home. So we came up with the idea of a “Dive-In Movie Party.” I used some fun party swag from Nico & Lala that we had brought to the Bahamas to celebrate and I was pretty proud of myself for repurposing it for this party!
The idea was that we would have his friends come over and swim and play for the evening and then I would use our blow up movie screen by the pool and when it got dark, we would play a movie. Of course, we had a couple of technical difficulties with the blow up movie screen (one of the fans blew and I couldn’t get enough wifi) which is what I probably get for putting it together last minute! But nonetheless, the kids still managed to have a great time.
Matt loaded all the boys up on the boat and they went to a little beach right by our house to fish, throw the football and play for a bit. That was a treat for me 🙂 When they got back, they swam for a little longer and then we sang, did cake and watched a little bit of a movie inside!
We served Santinos pizza, giant pretzels from Seville Quarter, a container full of PRIME and cakes from Nothing Bundt cake.
My failed attempt at the blow up movie screen! Be sure to test your electronics before use, ha!
