Crockpot Pulled Pork Recipe

It seems a bit embarrassing to even add this recipe as a post because it’s so easy; but the truth is, we are drowning in soccer practices and games every night of the week right now, and I need some simple recipes to get us by!

Much to my delight, this recipe pleased my ENTIRE family! This is saying a lot guys because my kids eat only “kids food” and its so annoying.  So when these pulled pork sliders were a hit for everyone, I about jumped for joy!

It is possible that the reason they all loved it was because (wait for it)……it’s made with COKE! It’s true and its so good and so easy.  So here you go:

Crockpot Pulled Pork

Servings 8 -10 people

Ingredients

  • 1 3 to 5 pound pork butt
  • 1 large onion chopped into big chunks
  • 2 cans of Coca-Cola
  • 1 12 to 18 oz bottle of your favorite BBQ Sauce
  • Garlic Powder Onion Powder, salt and pepper
  • Chopped green onions to garnish optional
  • Buns if you’re making sandwiches we love Hawaiian Rolls

Instructions

  • Mix together some garlic power, onion powder, salt and pepper and rub it on your pork butt.
  • In your slow cooker, place your pork and onion pieces inside.  Pour your soda on top of everything and cover and cook on high at least 6 hours.
  • Remove the lid after 8 to 10 hours and the meat should be falling a part at the touch of your fork.  Remove the meat from the slow cooker into a bowl and then drain your slow cooker of the onions and liquid.  Add your meat back to the slow cooker and shred it up with two forks.  Stir in as much of your BBQ sauce as you like.  At this point, you can serve immediately or you can turn the slow cooker to the “keep warm” setting and let it stay warm up to 4 or 5 hours until you’re ready to eat.
