I don’t know if you girls know this about me or not, but Matt and I lived in Ocean Springs, MS for two years (2009-2011) right before we got married! Ocean Springs is a super cute, quaint, little southern town in Mississippi and we were lucky enough to have a wonderful work family there as well as two of the sweetest couples that lived 2 minutes from us in Ocean Springs. One of them, I actually went to high school with, and the other one was actually a sorority sister of hers from Mississippi State. Long and short, we had a ton of fun in this small town for 2 years before life got busy with all of us having babies (we have 8 between the 3 of us)! So it has been years since we have all 3 been back together and we pulled off this little one night getaway to Fairhope this past weekend. It was perfect because Fairhope is right in the middle of both of us which was just about a 1.5 hour drive each!
We knew we only had about 24 hours on our little getaway, so we packed in some fun reservations and away we went. We met for a 12pm lunch on Saturday at The Fairhope Inn which is right in the middle of downtown Fairhope. It is the cutest little spot that has been recently renovated. The decor is adorable and the food was awesome!!
Right next to where I was parked was this adorable gift store called Wildflowers. I knew of it from one of my good friends and I had to pop in and see what they had. I loved these precious bags below, which my aforementioned friend has actually given me for a gift, and so much other cute party and holiday decor! I picked up some cute heart bath bombs for the kids to bring home and then it was time to run to the hotel for our spa appointments.
We were staying in the Spa building which had a cute balcony overlooking the bay and this little marina area! The spa has been renovated recently and it was so nice! I had a hydra facial which was amazing and had my skin glowing for the whole rest of the night. We had a little time after our services to go enjoy the hot tub and relaxation room with a glass of champagne!
We settled back in our room and poured one glass of champagne on our balcony, but then it was time to shower and get ready for our dinner reservation at the Wash House which was about 5 minutes or less up the road from The Grand Hotel.
This picture didn’t turn out too well outside, but this tree is too beautiful not to try and capture!
I wish I had pictures from our food at the Wash House because I am still drooling over the Chateaubriand steak that all 3 of us ended up ordering thanks to the recommendation of our driver that took us to dinner! I had mind served with butternut squash risotto and brussel sprouts and I’m telling you the steak just melted in your mouth! We all said it was the BEST meal! We headed home from dinner and drank wine at the firepits that they have all set up in little individual groupings outside! It was so pretty, I wish I had taken a photo!
Sunday morning we slept in and then packed up before heading to one last meal before we left town. We had brunch at the Hope Farm in Fairhope which is the cutest venue I’ve seen in awhile with a menu of farm to table shareables! It was so cute. The outdoor space is amazing and it was just a tad bit cold for us to sit outside, but next time I go, I definitely will. We had fun sharing one last meal and then it was time to head home!
It was such a fun night to catch up with the girls and have a little adult time with great food and a gorgeous change of scenery! I can’t recommend a quick trip to the beautiful spot enough if you have the opportunity. I would love to bring the kids back when it warms up some. They have a great pool area for the kids.
