Girls Weekend in Serenbe

In November for Veterans Day weekend, I flew to Atlanta with my girlfriends to celebrate one of our friends 40th birthday!!  We went to the quaintest little town called Serenbe.  It is about 25 min south of the Atlanta airport and it is a beautiful and quiet little farm-to-table community.  I had been through it about 13 years ago when I lived in Atlanta and I couldn’t believe how much it has grown.  They have several little restaurants, a general store, shops, an Inn, lots of homes, a couple little schools for the kids, tons of farm land, and a great spa and gym.  It’s hard to explain, but it felt a bit like the Truman Show from back in the day.  It’s like a farm-style, 30A before 30A exploded.

We stayed in this condo and the other part of our group rented a house.  Everything was super nice.  Clean, new and well-maintained.  It was a great girls weekend where we could have fun casually exploring during the day and enjoying wine at lunch, but then you could jump right in bed after dinner if you wanted to :).  This time of year was definitely a pretty time to be there too because we were able to watch the leaves change.  We don’t get this in the panhandle of Florida, so that was a bonus!

After we checked into our condo, we were ready to explore.   We went walking to find the Serenbe Inn and try to find a glass of wine or cocktail and some food!! Finally we found the restaurant and they were kind enough to serve us even though they were not technically opened.  After we ate something, we finally got our golf cart and found the rest of the group.  The dinner plans were simple, we were picking up pizza from The Hill and bringing back to our condo to eat and play games!

In the mornings, the Inn served complimentary breakfast to the guests which we took advantage of.  After breakfast, it was time to explore some more.  We were able to feed the animals, jump on the trampoline, hike a few paths, and take a lap around the ‘worry circle.’

You can imagine the the humor on our walk to feed the animals…

We completed our adventures and decided it was time to shower and get ready for lunch at Halsa.  This was a really cute lunch spot with delicious healthy salads and bowls.  It was here that we realized that celebrities were all around this area filming movies.  Our friend saw Rachel McAdams in the spa earlier that day. 🙂

After lunch and exploring a little more, we headed up to the Farmhouse where we were having dinner for the evening and went to the bar for drinks before our reservation.  We stopped and took a few pictures with the horses on our way to the Farmhouse.

After dinner, we bought a few s’mores kits from the front desk and went to the bonfire.

On Saturday, we spa’d, shopped and hit up two different wine tastings in this cute little town.  One wine tasting was at the wine store and the other was at the General Store.  The spa is really nice (although could be larger which I think they are expanding) and then they also have a really nice workout facility with several Peloton bikes to ride.

The “Duck Inn” was the name of our condo and it was right about the cutest wine shop and right in the heart of the little downtown area. We really loved it.

On Saturday evening, we had dinner back at The Hill Restaurant and then we went back to our condo (right across the street) for a little surprise birthday celebration.

Sunday it was time to pack it up and head home, but it was a great trip that I think everyone enjoyed and came home refreshed!!!
