We celebrated Madelyn’s 3rd birthday this past weekend and I wanted to give an update on what year three has looked like with her!! She has grown so much this year and become a big sister for the first time, so I wanted to be sure to document it!
3 YEARS OLD AS OF SEPTEMBER 14TH, 2018
WEIGHT:
We haven’t been to the doctor in a bit, but I’m guess you are about 32 pounds and just over 3ft tall.
CLOTHES:
Size 9/10 shoes. Clothes size 3 and 4s.
SLEEP:
You are still taking one afternoon nap when you get home from school usually around 130pm or 2pm. You are definitely starting to fight me a good bit on going down for your naps now because you just want to hang out with Brody since he doesn’t have to nap. I am still going to push for naps a bit longer because they still help me out and you do better with them too. The nice part now is that if you need to skip a nap, you can without too much problem. You usually nap for about 2 hours.
Sometime in June or early July this year we moved you from your toddler/twin bed in your room to Brody’s twin bed in his room. We had to make room for the new baby’s arrival. The transition started out really well, but we quickly had some regressions. You started waking up in the middle of the night and either walking back to your old room to sleep in the twin bed or you would come into our room to try to sleep. Each time you did this it would last for several nights and then you would stop. It was pretty exhausting, but we had a lot of transition. The new baby is here now and you still will wake up sometimes and try to come to our room, but you will go back to bed as soon as we walk you back.
FEEDING:
You are are a good eater. Unfortunately you have a big brother that is a terrible and picky eater, so sometimes you fall into the trap of only wanting to eat what he eats; but really you like a lot of things. You like eggs, turkey, ham, chicken, yogurt, cereal, waffles, grits, tomatoes, avocado, steak, corn, carrots, peas, meatballs, and lots more. You can be picky when you want to be, but you mostly eat well.

HEALTH:
Oh it’s kind of a blur. I’m pretty sure you had a cold for a good bit of June this summer and quite a few from this past winter. You had tubes put in your ears last May, but both tubes have now fallen out. So lets pray that we can make it through this winter without a ton of ear infections and the need to put new tubes in.
LIKES:
Playing with Brody – You pretty much just want to do whatever he is doing. You guys have really grown to play so well together and one of my favorite things to do is sneak around the corner and listen to some of the games you guys come up with together.
Baby Dolls- You are obsessed. You love to wrap your dolls up in little blankets and pushing them in the stroller. You love to carry them around and now you like sleeping with them. You just got several new ones for your birthday.
You love spending the night at both of your Grandma’s houses and usually do it with Brody with you too.

MILESTONES:
You moved from your Toddler Bed to twin bed a little over 2.5 years old
You also moved to the twin bed in Brody’s room and now share a room with him.

You are POTTY TRAINED! We started potty training at the end of May right when you got out of school. You learned in just a few short days and we never looked back! (except for that one time you pooped in the public pool!)
