Maryland Crabcake Recipe

My Mom makes these crab cakes and they are so delicious.  We have a recipe that we use a lot that I shared here, but this is a new way of making them and I love it because you can bake them in the oven instead of having to pan fry them.  It makes it a lot easier when you are trying to serve to guests and it’s really just a few simple ingredients!

If you can get great, fresh crabmeat; that is key!!

Maryland Crabcake Recipe

Ingredients

1 lb jumbo lump crabmeat, drained

1 Lemon

1 teaspoon Old Bay Seasoning or Creole Seasoning
1 egg
1⁄4 cup mayonnaise

1 tbsp parsley
1⁄4 teaspoon pepper
1 tbsp dijon mustard

2-3 pieces of white bread

Instructions

Sprinkle crabmeat with Old Bay seasoning, pepper and a little fresh lemon juice.

Mix together egg, mayo, parsley and mustard. Crumble bread (don’t use crust) and add to mixture.

Add in the crab meat, gently.

Shape into 3 or 4 large cakes and wrap in Saran Wrap and let refrigerate for a few hours.  This helps keep the crab cakes together.

Meanwhile, butter a jellyroll pan (cookie sheet) and preheat oven to a low broil.  Place crab cakes on cookie sheet, cook for about 10 minutes.

Pour some melted butter, fresh parsley and a sprinkle of Old Bay Seasoning on each one and serve it up!

** I love serving mine with a little mix of Sirachi Mayo on top.  Just mix together a little mayo and Sirachi sauce together! So yummy.
