No matter what toys your children like to play with, I think we have ALL felt the pain of disorganized chaos in our home! Whether your child likes Legos, blocks, Barbies, or anything in between, the amount of toys and the mess that they can create can be so hard to deal with. I had a rainy weekend day to myself recently, and decided to tackle some of our toys and get organized!
I decided to start with Madelyn’s American Girl doll clothes. These are so beautiful and well made, and I really want to make sure that they are taken care of. (Does anyone else still have their American Girl doll from growing up in the 90s?!) I got some miniature hangers to hang up the nicer dresses and jackets on these simple tension rods, and plenty of plastic shoeboxes to help corral the smaller items, divided by category, such as shoes, skirts, hats and pajamas, that are easier to fold. A label maker always comes in handy!
It feels so good to have everything packed away in an orderly fashion, and the simple labels on each box ensure that the kids can read them and put toys and clothes away where they belong. It took some time, but I’m so glad that we did this, and I’ll be able to breathe a little easier in our play areas (for now!).
