We celebrated the 4th of July this year at home and had a beautiful day! The 4th of July is my Mom’s birthday, so whenever we are together; we always like to try and make it special! We decided to have people over to our house around 12pm and let everyone swim, hangout, play in the bay or stop by on the boat. We served ribs and a shrimp boil and everyone brought different sides and we had the best day!
We added to our 4th of July decorations this year and my favorite purchase was our new American flag that worked as a great backdrop for photos and was a whole vibe on the back porch 🙂 I ordered the 5×8 size. We also added our American flag bunting to the pier ropes which we have owned for a couple of years and just never put out!
My outdoor tablecloth was purchased here and I love it because it can be used for more than just the 4th of July. I also shopped at Target early this year and snagged some goodies from the Target $1 section. They were selling these Happy 4th Hotdog sleeves that were perfect for the kids food. I took 40 hotdogs and put them in a crockpot that morning and left them on low heat for 3-4 hours and then stuck them in a bun and placed them in these sleeves for the kids to grab-and-go whenever they were ready. I couldn’t believe how many hot dogs they went through!
The adults and the kids enjoyed the pool. You always know it’s a good party when the adults are relaxing in the pool even more than the children.
The kids ate, played basketball, enjoyed popsicles and played out in the bay on paddle boards and floats all day long.
The party made it into the evening hours and once the beautiful sunset arrived, it was just too pretty to let our guests go home yet before the firework show. So we ordered pizzas and continued to play while we waited for it to get dark and watched TONS of fireworks go off all around us.
We even shot fireworks from our dock this year. The Dad’s were having a ball.

That’s a wrap on a super fun day!
