Can you believe it’s almost November?? This time of year gets so crazy busy, but I love cramming in all the fun things for the holidays.
One of my favorite things to do during the holidays is host a party! Even when I am not hosting Thanksgiving dinner at my house, I always love to set a Thanksgiving table. Last year, we started having a “Friendsgiving” which was so much fun. What I loved about Friendsgiving is that everyone is responsible for bringing their favorite dish and you get to try other families favorite Thanksgiving sides. If your family is like mine, we tend to make the same dishes for Thanksgiving each year because that is our tradition. But I love trying the new ones that our friends make to change it up a bit!
This year I looked to eBay to decorate our dining room table and prep for our meal. I knew from the get-go that I wanted our focal point to be the very popular velvet pumpkins. They come in lots of different colors so you can choose the traditional orange or go with more neutral tones like I decided to do this year.
Then how cute are these pumpkin plates?? I just love the way they tie in the season but still keep with the neutral palette.
I used these pretty gold candlesticks in different sizes to give the table some height and then just laid some fresh eucalyptus leaves down to add some greenery. I love this gold flatware to give the table a little fancier feel too. I went with a simple red wine glass to pair with our dinner and a clear water goblet with just a little texture.
Lastly, I used a simple and inexpensive gold charger for each setting a long with a neutral rattan round placemat. I think the whole table came together so nicely, I couldn’t be happier!
I love to serve a signature cocktail at my dinner parties. For Fall, this Apple Cider Moscow Mule is perfect to greet guests with when they arrive. The most important ingredient for a Moscow mule?? The perfect copper mug to keep the drink nice and cold!
Apple Cider Moscow Mules
Ingredients
1.5 oz caramel flavored vodka
2 oz apple cider (store bought or homemade)
juice of one small lime wedge
1/2 cup good quality ginger beer to top off (adjust to taste)
cinnamon to sprinkle
Instructions
In a copper mug, add the vodka, apple cider and lime juice.
Fill the glass with ice, sprinkle cinnamon over the ice, then top off with ginger beer.
Stir well and garnish with an apple slice and cinnamon stick.
eBay has everything you need in the kitchen to get your house ready for the holidays too and at a great price! I love my countertop mixer and copper baking sheets that not only look pretty, but are super functional. They are a must for prepping for a big holiday meal!
One of my best purchases on eBay was my new Dyson Cordless Vacuum. This Dyson V10 Absolute vacuum that I have makes it so easy to grab and give a quick clean up before my guests arrive and then again after they leave. It has major power, 60 minutes of battery life and has no bags to clean! Just a simple canister to empty in the trash can and then keep on cleaning! It also comes with about 7 different brushes to change out depending on your needs too.
eBay has updated their shopping experience and 89% of items can now be bought using Buy it Now feature. You don’t have to bid on a product and wait to see if you are the winner anymore! They also offer Price Matching and Guaranteed Delivery, so you can be sure to receive your product by the delivery date listed or search for products by a specific delivery date! Annie, Lee from LEE TRACY here, Elaine Davis introduced me to your blog and I have been following you for a while. You share great ideas and experiences. Mike and I are cruising our trawler this year and I have started to blog to keep friends and family in the loop on our adventures. I have discovered that I love the writing and I am hearing from people that they enjoy the reads. I’m in Pensacola some this month and would love to meet over coffee or lunch. I have so much to learn about the blogging world and the more I study the more confused I get! Would you be available anytime Monday the 19th or Tuesday the 20th?
