Our Weekend |4th of July

We had such a fun holiday weekend celebrating at home.  It felt like such a nice long weekend with the 4th happening on a Thursday this year.

I started off with the sweetest happy mail from Vera Bradley.  They sent the cutest box of goodies in their firework paisley print.  I loved my monogrammed towel, large tote, koozie, and a great clear bag that is perfect for sunscreen inside your beach bag!

I set the dining table for the 4th of July and had plans to share it with you girls much sooner, but I didn’t get it finished in time!  I had fun mixing some old and new and loved the way it turned out.  These napkin rings really helped inspire this table. I think they are the cutest!

On Thursday for the 4th, we left Molly home with my MIL and we went to a friends camp to swim and celebrate the 4th for lunch.  I made this little fruit tray and some of those delicious baked poppy seed ham sandwiches that I forgot to take a picture of!

We came home after swimming and had a wonderful dinner at home.  The kids wore their matching 4th of July jammies and I made some festive food for us all to enjoy.

We had a fun cheese platter, a tomato mozzarella salad with blueberries and then some macaroni and cheese I made ahead of time and Matt grilled some steaks and asparagus.  We barely made it up for the fireworks and luckily got to see them right out our back door!

The kids helped me decorate a fruit pizza! They did pretty good.

Friday we went with my SIL and nephews to swim at the pool and have lunch.  The kids swam for a long time and then we headed home to rest before meeting friends for dinner that evening.

oh, and I forgot my hat so I borrowed Madelyn’s bonnet. How does it look??

We headed to the Yacht Club for dinner after dodging some rain and let the kids play!

We took Saturday super slow and basically did nothing!  And it was kind of glorious.  We slept in, woke up with coffee and breakfast and a little game of Guess Who?  I took the big kids to a trip to Target and to grab some lunch and that was pretty much the extent of our day.

Sunday morning we geared up for a USA World Cup Women’s Finals Soccer Party.   I don’t know if you guys remember this old throwback post from high school and college, but soccer was a pretty large part of me for the first half of my life 🙂

I made this fruit platter again because it was so easy and cute!  Everyone brought food to contribute which made it so fun and easy!

My SIL made this delicious fruit and yogurt parfait.  It was almost too pretty to eat.  She made it with the Publix granola that you find in the bakery section and we all couldn’t stop talking about how good it was.

I also put together this cute Bagel Bar that I have been dying to do for awhile.  It just has cream cheese, smoked salmon, lemon, capers, red onion, sliced tomatoes, avocado and sliced cucumbers.  I think some hard boiled eggs and a little dill for garnishment would have been great too.

We also had this easy breakfast casserole and one of my favorite grits casseroles.  My friend made these delicious homemade banana muffins and she sent me the recipe. I will have to share them soon. They were amazing.

The kids all wearing their red white and blue were adorable!

Hope everyone had a great holiday! We have another big week ahead for us in Pensacola.  It’s Blue Angel Weekend!
