Scenes from our Weekend

Happy Monday friends.  It was another cold and fairly quiet weekend over at the Malone’s.  Brody and I held down the fort while Daddy went on a little work hunting trip for the weekend.  It worked out alright because my Mom was coming through town for a short two days and we had plans for a family dinner on Saturday night.  Friday was freezing; but both of us were getting a little cabin fever, so we ventured outside a bit because all he wanted to do was swing and then ran a couple of errands.
Saturday, my Mom came over and played with Brody for a bit and we all ran to Fresh Market to get some groceries for the lasagna we were making for family dinner.  It was another cold day, so we were so content catching up and cooking while Brody napped during the afternoon.

I wore this little number for running errands.  I was feeling like sporting a little pink on Saturday and loved the pop it gave to my mostly black and white outfit.
Today marks the one year anniversary of my Dad’s death.  I mentioned this on Friday and shared this painting that we have hanging in our home office.  My brothers and I actually hired someone to paint this for my Dad for Christmas of 2013.  We were very excited because he is so hard to shop for!  The artist actually didn’t have the painting ready in time for Christmas and finished it just in time for us to display it at his funeral.  Of course it is so sad that he never got to actually see the gift, but I feel so lucky to have it now.

Saturday night before we headed to my brother and SIL’s for dinner, I packed up a bunch of Brody’s clothes from last spring that he’s grown out of.  It seriously got me teary eyed because it was all his sweet bubbles and any “baby” clothes we had left.  I feel like he’s such a little toddler now and it made me so nostalgic.  The best is that I get to pass these down to my bro and SIL and see them all on my cutest little nephew.  That makes it a lot easier πŸ™‚

Here’s my cute nephew pushing Brody around in his cart.
Sunday was spent chilling at the house with a fun little photo session with this cutie!! We also snapped some fun shots for the blog too!! Here’s a couple I shot, but I can’t wait to share the professional ones with you πŸ™‚

I’m off to watch the golden globes with my hubby and favorite pizza delivery!! Have a great week.
