Wow! I haven’t done one of these posts in ages! Like 3 months….and I’m so sorry.
I finally took pictures from the weekend, we had a weekend full of fun things, and I think I finally felt 100% like myself again for the first time in 3 months! It was amazing.
We started off the weekend on Friday with the most gorgeous weather. I attended a brunch and shop charity event for childhood cancer which was so nice and then took the kids on a stroll to the TALL Ships that were docked close to our house all weekend long. Has anyone heard of these ships before?? They travel around to different ports on the coastline and apparently they have been here to Pensacola before but I have never seen them. It was fun to walk around and see them all and they even had all the crew members there to talk to you and give you history, but my kids were not chill enough to let me listen.
This coconut stand was set up at the port and I swear that I have never found a coconut water at the store that I have ever liked, but I was dying over how good these fresh coconuts were. Madelyn totally hijacked it from me, but it was so delicious. I wanted to take about 10 home with me because I have the hardest time finding something to drink this pregnancy!
I texted my hubby at work on Friday and told him that I was making him a gourmet dinner for a surprise at-home date night to thank him for taking extra good care of me and the kiddos these last 3 months while I have been mostly helpless and certainly not cooking in the kitchen! I had this idea to make us a delicious seafood dinner.
I pan seared fresh Snapper by just sprinkling it with Tony’s and black pepper and then dipping it in a little flour. I melted some butter in the skillet and pan seared the fish. I also bought a pound of jumbo lump crabmeat and seasoned it with lemon, pepper and tony’s and mixed it in with some butter and sautéed green onions. That is the mixture on top of the fish! We then just grilled asparagus and I made these little potato stacks that Natalie shared on her blog. It was such a yummy dinner and really felt good to be back in the kitchen again and to be able to actually enjoy good food again!
Saturday morning I had a surprise brunch to attend for a friend! It was actually a surprise house warming party which turned out so fun. She was so surprised!! The host totally outdid herself.
I wore this Jane Shift dress that is just one of my very favorite styles. Apparently, Lilly just works really well for me while I’m pregnant. And the colors are so happy that it makes me feel happy 😊
How amazing is this cake?? It’s a replica of her house!!! So cute!
There was so many good appetizers and food options. I was ready to steal all of her recipes.
Saturday evening we had a wedding party to attend! The weather was supposed to be absolutely horrible that night and it was an outdoor reception, but ya’ll, it never even rained during the party! It was amazing. It started at 5pm and we stayed until 10pm and never had bad weather. It was an absolutely perfect night actually! We had a blast.
I wore this pineapple maxi dress that I loved. It’s not maternity, but worked perfect for me now at 19 weeks and I think will make it through most of my pregnancy. I am wearing a size large.
It was such a nice weekend! It gave me hope for feeling good the rest of this pregnancy and being able to enjoy all the fun this summer! I can’t wait!
What a great weekend! You look gorgeous and I’m loving that maxi dress!
