I am going to start the weekend with last Thursday night because it was the annual Witches & Wine party that I go to each year! This dinner party is always a blast because everyone dresses up as a unique Witch. These ladies get creative, I tell ya. And most of them come up with a new costume every single year! So this year, I was determined to come up with something good because last year I was so last minute I just had to run to the costume store and grab a Hocus Pocus costume which was quite unoriginal. I enlisted my friend Megan (@megluxe) because she is the queen of creativity. She helped me think up a Starbucks Witch. So with a few quick google searches, I came up with this cute, yet simple Witch outfit!
I have a simple black witch hat that I took a hot glue gun to and added in some Starbucks cups that I collected. I went to Etsy and found this cute t-shirt “Not a Basic Witch” with the Starbucks logo. Most of the cups I got were just paper cups from Starbucks, but I ordered two of these cute Halloween Starbucks cups from Etsy. My skirt is just a black tulle skirt from Amazon that you can find here.
My friend Amy (she used to date my Dad before he passed) does this party every year for her birthday and she goes all out. Wait until you scroll down and see the decorations of the table and all around the private room in McGuires. The pictures do not do it justice!
Apparently I have no pictures from Friday, but basically we just hung, went to Brody’s soccer practice and grilled hamburgers at home for a nice quiet evening!
Saturday morning was soccer for Brody and then we hung at home before it was time to go to the Annual Carving & Cocktails party. This is my second year going and our hosts go all out! They just built the most gorgeous house and I loved all of the details so much!! It looks fantastic!
We meet, greet and grab a cocktail and then its down to business. Each couple gets a pumpkin and you have about 45 minutes to carve your heart out!
Matt’s been sick this week, so he didn’t make it this year and me and Courtney teamed up as partners! About 2 hours before the party, we did a quick google search and found this adorable wine idea! I had bought her this fun purse from Porto-Vino about 2 years ago as a gift and it came with extra wine bags. So guess what, we grabbed one, brought it to the party and used it inside our pumpkin !!! How funny is that??
Yes, our pumpkin really dispensed wine 🙂
If you saw on my stories, those four people lying on the ground below were surprise guests!! They came into the party like sloths and acted as zombies with music! It was so awesome. They did an entire Thriller dance that was amazing!! Such a fun touch!
Our Hosts Nick & Sid! They are a hoot and know how to throw a great party.
Sunday was a gorgeous day!! We woke up and went out to breakfast and then put the kids on bikes and in the stroller and walked over to BARKTOBERFEST. It was full of dogs and fun tents and things to do for the kids. They loved the bouncy house and we just walked around and enjoyed a Fall day.
Sunday evening we took the two big kids and my MIL to a Cirque du Soliel show that was playing local. It was called AXEL and the whole show was on ice. Those shows always amaze me with their acrobatics and the kids had a blast. It was perfect because it was about a two hour show including intermission and it kept their attention!!
A weekend packed full of fun for sure!! Can’t believe we are two days from Halloween!! How did that happen????
